Poorly baby

My lg has been feeling poorly for a few days now with a viral infection and blocked / congested sinuses. She's not drinking much and has only had 530ml for the whole or yesterday and today and no solids as its too painful for her to swallow. Gp said not to worry about solids as long as she's hydrated but will she be ok with that little amount of formula.

Shes never drank as much as her body weight recommended so just concerned that her weight might drop again or she may not get enough fluids

Has anyone else been through anything similar. Any advice or help would be welcomed

I would personally say, as long as her nappies are wet then that's a good sign she's not dehydrated.

As for food we as adults go off food when we're not well, As my nicu nurse told me babu will tell you when she's hungry, just go with her flow atm , you can always visit the HV AND HAVE her weighed for piece of mind x

Not sure if your in uk but a few weeks ago my daughter was congested, we used saline drops helped alot x

I'm in UK, I've been using the vicks vapour rub on her chest and back I'm noticing a slight difference, but her cough is still rattly. I'll try using the saline drops too

We had the same thing with my LG. Took her to the doctors has she’d not had a wet nappy all day and then she pee’d whilst we were waiting in reception 🤣 I was told reduction in milk can happen when ill, but as long as wet nappy’s and skin doesn’t look dehydrated you’re all good. Mine had a cough and runny nose for 2-3 weeks, as they have no immune system. She wasn’t sleeping well either because she was so bunged up with cold 💯 recommend the Calpol plug in, made the room smell of baby rub and cleared her nose a lot to help her sleep (and us too). Big hugs mum, but if you’re worried I would definitely call 111 or see your GP. Xx

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰
