Clogged ducts - help!

For the last 3 days I feel like I've had 5 separate episodes of clogged ducts in both breasts. I feel like they are in different areas of my boob reach time and they do tend to get better and even go away before they then come back. My baby has a good latch and I still guide him onto my nipple, so I'm confident the latch hasn't changed, but I don't know if I can keep dealing with such painful breasts. Does anyone have any advice? I pump when I feel the pain too and try to keep baby boy on the sore breast to start each feed, but then it seems to affect my other breast.

I’m 2 months pp and had the same clog in my right breast from day 1. I got clogged so easily and had to be so vigilant with feeds and icing my boobs to get some relief. Recently I’ve started taking sunflower lecithin and genuinely haven’t had a single clog!! When they were full previously, they wouldn’t feel typically engorged, they would just be all plugged up and be rock hard in loads of areas. Since taking the supplements they just feel
full - not like rocks!! I started with 4x a day, now I do one with breakfast lunch and dinner. By the evening of day 2 of taking them there was already so much relief. You can also (1) wean yourself off them (2) take them for a few days to clear the ducts (3) take then then reduce to 1x a day to keep them coming back - hope this helps because its saved my life and I was seriously debating giving up breastfeeding because it was impossible before!

(Just want to add, it’s had 0 affect on my baby girl, been taking it from 5.5 week until now (8 weeks))

Do you do breast compressions whilst baby is feeding? Have you tried breast massage?
Do you have a breastfeeding support team who you can chat to, we've got one called cherubs here and they're amazing, they'll go through loads of questions and check you're Latch to help work out how to help

I've heard of sunflower lecithin before but never really looked into it. I may have to get some now, thank you!

yes I do compressions and I also do massages too. I don't think we have a breastfeeding support team in the area unfortunately. I'll have to see if I can contact the national team or something

@Beth ahh that's a shame, yeah get in contact with then and see what they can advise you. Best of luck, this breastfeeding isn't as easy as I thought it would be x

Ibuprofen and ice seem to work for me. They are usually better within 48 hours! Also taking sunflower lecithin.

Is it cheating

My husband just told me that at work he and his male friends/coworkers pinch each others nipples as like a joke, I think it’s inappropriate and it’s cheating in a way and he does not agree he thinks it’s just funny and nothings wrong with it

Deodorant

Ladies what deodorant are we all using?

Since the sun has finally remembered to exist and we've been going on more walks I STINK. I smell like I've been laying on the beach in the sun covered in oil all day. All just after going for a walk.

I know a lot of people struggle with this postpartum but it's so embarrassing!

I just can't seem to find one that works for me?

Help!?!

First wake window

How do you spend first wake window with your baby?
I am not morning person so I struggle to be all happy at 6-7am 🤣 and since first one is quite short (1.5 hrs - what is yours btw? 🤔) then what do you do in that time?
I won’t lie. Baby wakes up at 6.30am and I’m just waking up slowly on my own for the first 30 min while he is chilling next to me 🙈
Do you stay in bed and play there or do you leave bed and move around etc?

5 ounces of formula every 3 hours?

Hi,

My 6 week old is having 5 ounces of formula every 3 hours like clockwork. He is 4&1/2 kg and the doctors are very surprised. Is this normal?

Doctors said a baby of this age should be having 3 ounces. And i should look to reduce the amount but Baby cries after i give him 3 ounces but calm when hes had 5 ounces.

Standing???

Anyone else’s 7 month old standing up and trying to take steps??? My son can fully stand without support and is now trying to take steps. I feel like it’s too early?…

Excuse the mess, I’m doing a late night deep clean and he’s doing the opposite of helping 😂
