I moved to Florida in 2021 with my boyfriend & had our first child in 2022. We lived there for a whole year then moved back to Texas due to not having the best living conditions. My mom would always call me saying to move back to Texas, that she would quit her job to watch my baby since I was just a SAHM in Florida to help us out by saving. She offered us her home. My husband didn’t want to move but to see me happy we did. We’re about to be here in Texas for a year now and things haven’t been great. My mom didn’t quit her job and watched my baby like she said she would, which I know it’s not her responsibility & didn’t tell her anything about it since he is my son and my responsibility but It would’ve been good if she had kept her word. I still found a job as a medical assistant and eventually had to put my 1yr old in daycare. My partner and I never wanted daycare until our son learned how to talk, sadly we had to put him in because we were both working now. We had a horrible experience with daycare & had to quit my job. Thankfully my boss gave me work from home. My husband keeps telling me we should move back to Florida. Me, personally I feel ashamed, embarrassed to move back into his parent’s house after saying Texas would be a better opportunity for us. I know we’re two grown ass adults who should be getting their own place but with this economy it’s a struggle, We’re trying to save up for our house.
Here in Texas with my mom, we’re constantly arguing, she’s constantly getting in our relationship, they have some evil dogs and we can’t even walk outside without having them to put them up first, it’s a PROBLEM that she said she would resolve when we got here. Which till this day it has not gotten fixed. She’s upset because I’ve been hinting we might move back & all she tells me is how stupid I am to be going back and forth worth.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, is it bad to move back to Florida? Should I be ashamed? What would you do in my situation. I don’t want to move back with his parents, again it’s embarrassing. At this point I’m just ready to get an apartment.

It's just a suggestion, but I suggest staying where you are. I know from experience that living with or around family can be challenging, but you guys made a decision and should follow through. Once you're in a better position you could try buying a house in Florida, but right now you shouldn't go back until you have the financial means to be there. Make the most of where you are no matter the obstacles, count your blessings for family and career, and if it's meant to be, you'll end up in Florida when the timing is right. Good luck!!!
I do tell my husband we should just stay but it’s always an argument and we can never agree. He wants to move back and I want to stay. As long as we have our own place idc where we’re at.
