Please don’t judge on the choice to use pouches right now. I’m exhausted and literally hanging on by a thread doing this all alone at moment 🥱 pouches are saving my sanity til I can be the weaning homemade cooking mommy I wanted to be a bit later down the line.
Using organic, and no fruits and excessive use of sugars for now as prefer that route. She loves her food and texture is not an issue for her so far (I think because she’s always been on anti reflux formula). Just ordered some really nice looking ones for 7+ months. Haven’t yet seen consistency of them til they arrive. She’s 6 months 1wk but loves her food and not not liked anything so far 🤞🏻. Do you think the 7+ month guideline on these is simply just a guideline?
Thankyou 🙏

And yeah, they’re just a guideline and generally just because the texture changes as you say and they get a little more lumpy, so it’s a way to let parents know they aren’t likely to be silky smooth like the ones marketed for younger ages like 4m+/6m+

We love a good pouch ❤️ I also haven't got my head into the home cooked weaning game so pouches are a life saver at the minute.

Definitely a guideline, and which ones did you choose? I use hipp organic jars 7+ baby loves them!
went with the Ella’s kitchen 7+ month ones this time as needed to get them same day delivery from supermarket locally. But really liked Little Freddie’s ones we last ordered in their 6+ month veggie range. She loved them! Hipp she liked too before. The 7+ month ranges do look a lot more interesting and experimental so hopefully they go down well 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
She eats better than me these days as too tired to cook eat. But she hates sharing 🤣
great, yea I think she’s ready for the next stage so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I also use pouches. I made some purees to begin with but my baby is so clingy that it’s hard to make anything when we’re home alone so we also use pouches as they are so quick and easy to sort. We use the Ella’s Kitchen, Nutmeg and Hipp organic depending on what we’re in the mood for😅
Also nobody should be judging you as baby is still fed and you’re doing what works best for you both😊xx
thanks. I just always dreamed of being that mum that cooks it all for her and had saved and follow the my babies plate group since pregnant. But sometimes conserving energy is what’s needed comes first 😬
But literally can’t wait til our external life stress calms down and can do all that for her. It might make me finally sit down and eat with her by that stage. As my diet is quick microwave meal at end of day when she goes down which is probably adding to the lack in energy side of things tbh.
It is great they do some great ranges these days though without all the nasties in like you said, so that helps to feel less guilty
ahh not seen nutmeg ones will have a Google of those xx

The only reason theyre 7+ is due to both texture and allergens/ multiple ingredients as at 6 months youre usually not done going through the allergens so its not bad at all id just ingredient check to make sure i wasnt giving multiple allergens at once that she hadnt had before in case of reactions

You often find them in Morrisons as it’s their own brand xx

I find batch cooking baby meals and freezing them in individual portions the only way to survive. Nothing against pouches apart from the price of them. No idea how others cook from scratch every day xx

Wanted to add that i find sainsburys own brand “little ones” are all organic and amazing i stock up on the pure veggie ones whenever im in there as trheyre literally the perfect portion size for my daughter, the only things you really need to double check are if you try any 1+ as they can contain honey as a sweetner

I did that, but I tried to blend it , but before feeding

You definitely don't need to follow exactly what the pouch says by months I've been giving my daughter 7+ month pouches instead of 6 months
