So when I had my first kid (only in 2022) the like trendy development things to worry about where so different.
Seems like 2023 mums are worried about speech more than anything else.
My oldest had way more screentime than my 2023 twins have had, she went to way more baby groups, she was at childminder from 13 months old. (I also barely read to her because she just attacked the books and it was stressful man). I really can't remember how many words she had at that point but I'm pretty sure it wasn't much, like mama, dads, ta, bye... around 17 months she added meow, water, milk... she's 2.5 now. She doesn't shut up. 5 word sentences. Lots of new phrases every few days. She was an early walker and not a big talker but she wasn't considered late either. Now I Google and its shiz like 50 words by 18 months?! Get to f. Seems unrealistic to me. Keep doing what you're doing mummy's and try not to worry until closer to 18 months. They really can just whip out a new skill overnight x

It's all social media you see so many people sharing baby's doing things and people think sh@t my baby's behind. My first wouldn't really talk 2019 baby. He said a few words but he took everything in. We sang the alphabet and counted and did colours when out in the pram. Well I did he listened. We pointed out things just normal things you do without thinking. Anyway he was like a sponge he new it all. He just didn't say it. He started to at 2 only to me he was shy from lock down. At 3 he was the only one to count to 30 on his now he is amazing at maths and colours. They take so much more in than we think. Now 5 he never stops talking also lol x
