My 6 month old is still struggling to sleep all night, sometimes he wakes up and just goes back to sleep, he will eat an entire bottle, or take a couple drinks then fall back to sleep. We have another baby on the way so I want to get him in the best routine I can, how can I help him to sleep all night? I feel like I’ve tried so many different things

My baby is 15 months and he’s still only slept through the night a handful of times! Some children just don’t manage it until they’re older and it’s not because of anything you’re doing or not doing.
Do you do a dream feed? Maybe that would help you to get a longer stretch of sleep?

what is a dream feed?

I’ll have to try that, thank you

I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old. My 2 year old has NEVER slept through the night. He still wakes multiple times. My 6 month old I tried everything to help her sleep, spent hours upon hours doing research. No dummy. Everything I tried …even hired a very pricey sleep consultant yet my baby is do sleeping and waking many many times at night…. I think some babies just don’t wanna sleep and I have accepted it 🤣🥂

6 months is still really young to be sleeping through the night. My son didn’t start doing it consistently until he was nearly 3.

It sounds like he is in a great routine. Honestly most babies don’t sleep through for a long while and he may start to get more disturbances due to teething and mobility milestones, etc.

Sometimes it may take a while for them to sleep through the night. But have you tried adjusting his sleep/nap schedule my son used to sleep through the night and then when he began teething he would wake up at least or three times throughout the night however this went on for months and i couldn’t figure it out. It would be extremely frustrating as we weren’t getting any sleep, and we both had to wake up for work in the morning. I recently pushed his bedtime a little later and he started sleeping through the night. sometimes it could be something as small as just changing their schedule.

Take a look at how many naps he’s having throughout the day and how long and also consider pushing his bed time a little bit later.

My LO didn’t sleep through the night till he was 2. You’re not doing anything wrong, some babies just don’t sleep as soundly as others. At least he goes back to sleep after he wakes!
