Currently 3 days PP after a c section. Finding the trapped wind so incredibly painful like it is travelling up to my shoulder making sleeping impossible. I have lactulose (stool softener) but I also still have not been able to go to the toilet. How long did it take people to go? Any tips or tricks with it and the wind too? Really struggling mentally too and all this physical pain does not make it any easier 🥲

Hii! I’m 7 days PP.. the gas pains were so bad 😭 my husband massaged my behind really hard and it helped release. It took 6 days for me to use the bathroom even after taking stool softener in the hospital.

My first it took 4/5 days and with my 2nd it only took 2 days

I had the most painful cramps because of the trapped wind. I was literally screaming in agony as if they were contractions. I drank peppermint tea, and had lactulose and movicol daily. It took 4/5 days. Actually going was absolutely fine so don’t worry about that part. Remember not to strain but it should fine with all the lactulose! Hang in there mama x

After my surgery I remember me and my partner driving somewhere and I had the most horrendous bowl movement pains they felt like contractions again they were so uncomfortable I had to rush back to the house 🤦🏼♀️

If ok with your doctor, take Simethicone, peppermint tea, maalox/mylanta (one of them), and walk around.

I don’t think I pooped for like 5 days and it sucked

I was 5 days.
Try chewing gum for the wind.

Peppermint tea is really good on your tummy. Your body will do it when it’s ready. You are in the thick of it right now. It will get better ❤️🩹

I keep hearing about this but i never experienced this at all 🤔does anyone know the cause?

the theatre drugs (along with the painkillers) are incredible but cause constipation, like a lot of medicine in general. So they give you lactoluse to take alongside to hopefully avoid it. Morphine, codiene etc blocks you up for a few days xx

I just cried myself to sleep after taking as many painkiller as im allowed, im sorry youre going through this

Hi I had this when I had my EMCS in April. I took lactulose too and prunes helped and ate lots of salad and plenty of fluids helped. I passed stool on day 4 though and ended up needing suppository twice otherwise wouldn't be discharged home.

It took me 7 days with laxatives every day as well 😬 I wa so worried but after that first time it got a lot better x
