As suspected family are already trying to book days to visit baby (due for c sec on tues) did anyone else have to do a rota?!
Dreading it last thing I want. Might avoid day 3 as milk due in?

We’ve made plans for when people can come round just so everyone isn’t coming at the same time. Although we’ve had to change them slightly as my originally c section date was cancelled🤦🏻♀️. We’re basically having parents come once we’ve been discharged from hospital then my sister and her husband on another day but after that we’re limiting it and saying friends can wait unless we feel ready sooner. With my first we over did it with visitors and it was just too much whilst recovering from c section. Also be prepared that your milk may not come in on day 3. For some people it does but c section birth can mean it takes slightly longer to come in due to the stress on the body. It was 5 days with my first
Oh no why was it cancelled and what’s the difference in days?! Really hope they dnt move mine it must be so frustrating. I think I’m going to do family the week of baby being born then friends the next weekend. It’s too much I just want to slob around in pjs, skin to skin and breastfeed before my partner goes back to work a wk later’

They were just too busy and I wasn’t a priority essentially as I don’t really have medical issues as such apart from previous c section and anaemia. They pushed me back 6 days 😫 I’m due it tomorrow which is literally a day before my due date so praying they don’t try cancel again. I’m sure you’ll be fine though! I just have bad luck 😂 yeah it’s a good idea to spread it out as much as possible. With our first my mind set was get it all out the way asap then we can chill but I regretted that decision

I purposefully put a ban on visitors for the first week, so glad I did. You need time to rest and recover, bond with your baby too 🫶🏻 also a good idea is to go to people’s house, so you can leave when you want, otherwise people tend to outstay their welcome in our experience 🫣
So true!!!
I had an emergency c sec last time and my mother in law CRIED because we wouldn’t let her over the NIGHT we got home….

I literally dont understand the insensitivity of others. Im so lucky my Mum and MIL are understanding. Ive told my family and close friends that we are playing by ear on when I will be ready for visits. Even coming home from the hospital, I will decide on the day if I want anyone other than my partner, baby and I coming to the house.
Be firm in your decision and forget everyone elses emotions. Your emotions and needs are number 1. The insensitivity of everyone else will just tell me to keep them all at arms length and create even stricter boundaries on them. If they cant be understanding of a moment like this, they wont be for future important phases in your childs life imo
I know I so wish I could just be honest and say can we at least wait a couple of days. But they wouldn’t even allow it! Then where does this “village” go when you need a babysitter 😵💫

Everything should be on YOUR terms not theirs. If they dont want to help out with the baby because they cant give you a moments rest after birthing an entire human being then they can get stuffed, seriously. Thats called conditional love and I wouldnt have it

I feeeeel this post! As soon as everyone found out our little boy was born it was constant. Also had a section (emergency) and it seemed no one baring immediate family (my mum etc) actually gave two shites about myself and the journey I had been through. A section is not easy and the toll it takes on your body was nothing I’ve ever experienced! I actually gave myself a lot of credit in the end for what I had just been through. Best advice? Tell them all to do one. Bring people you want over, the people that are going to care for you and look after you. Even help with odd jobs around the home because these are the things you may need more support with. Your baby isn’t a new toy for everyone to play and pass around - but unfortunately that’s honestly how it feels. It did for me. Never feel bad for offending people or saying no either! You, your body and your baby are your priority remember that🫶🏻x
yessss! You get it. People will come round wanting cuddles and me to just make endless tea etc. no consideration at all… my babies not even here and people just want to be first to meet them!

this! My first was an emergency c section and everyone was just like “oh well at least she’s here safe and healthy” completely ignoring what I’d just been through and I actually struggled with it but felt like no one really understood
My MIL already asked when il be home as shel have my other child 😂 I do not know

Really easy solution don’t tell people when you LO is born, and you are home.
Keep everything vague about birth and timings
Not even given people my actual due date or C-section date. It’s a closely guarded secret that only WE know
