Sweep question

I’m over 40 weeks now too

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this means jack crap.

I had a sweep last week. She said I'm 2cm head is very low. Baby not here. Seem my midwife today, had another sweep I'm exactly the same as last week. My midwife said she could feel her hair.

Let's see if this sweep does anything

Don’t hold your hopes up as it’s disappointing when it doesn’t. I had 3 sweeps was told I was 2cm could be stretched to 3 now in for induction and I’m borderline 2 cm hoping this induction works 😩but fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼💖

I had one on Monday, was 1-2 cm dilated soft cervix and babies head was far down lost my plug, and had cramps that night and Tuesday night, no other signs or symptoms of baby coming just don’t try to predict what’s gonna happen cause it can be disappointing 😓 I told myself I’d go into labour by now and still nothing

Sadly there's only a 1 in 7 chance (I think?) Of a sweep starting labour. I had 2 prior to an induction booked due to health issues and although successful neither started labour. For both cervix was low, soft and just under 2cm, babies head could be felt. Induction was fast tho so not sure if the sweeps helped with that 🤷‍♀️ lots of walking followed by extreme relaxing is all I can suggest. Baby will come when they are ready, or made to come

I agree all this spicy food, sex and other things people say help are all lies. Ooh so frustrating

I hate to add on the negative news but unfortunately the comments above are true. I had 3 sweeps in total and was induced and still nothing. I eventually gave birth at 41 weeks + 5 and this was only due to a section as this in the end was my only option. I tried everything I possibly could to help him along with walks etc and I had a perfect low risk pregnancy which I loved. I had an ideal perception of a natural labour and that went to pop as well - baby and your body just write their own version of things in the end. As long as baby is happy and healthy you’ve got this🫶🏻x

Thanks all! Good to know 👍 I am feeling pretty zen so far and really positive about the birth but won’t get my hopes up and will just carry on as normal 😊
