I know there are still expecting moms on here but this is for everyone… i just wanted to put this out here because i feel like other people dont really understand-
A big part of postpartum that i feel like is not talked about enough is having your body back after birth.
Getting used to the way of life without a baby in your belly. Being able to move and do things you couldnt have for the past 9months.
Adjusting our lives for the past 9 months solely for your baby and now all of the sudden, you dont have to anymore.
It hits a little different and its a weird concept to get used to again.
Whether its eating certain foods, drinks certain drinks, laying on your stomach, cracking your back, touching your toes/bending over, leaning against a counter, reaching for something etc.
It feels like a new life and it can be disorienting. Anyone who hasnt been pregnant seems to not completely understand this feeling so im writing this in hopes it helps new moms or seasoned moms to not feel alone with all the different emotions after birth (this being one of them)

ik breastfeeding is still strict on the body but im mainly talking about the belly bump

💕💕love this , had my daughter 4 days ago and it feels like something is missing out of me ! At the same time I’m glad to be able to touch my toes again lol

I'm happy to see my body going anywhere near back to normal again. Most surprising so far was how much my feet had actually swelled. So weird to see them normal size again. Unfortunately with a c section I don't see a lot going back to normal anytime soon but im ok with that. The best thing is being able to pop my back again and I can't wait to be healed enough to move around normally again. I still need to remember to slow down tho because I just had surgery and a baby 10 days ago and I'm not back to normal yet.

Laying on stomach is huge!!

This is my favorite part about postpartum aside from having baby in my arms. The freeing feeling of being able to squeeze into smaller spaces, not knocking my 3 and 4 year olds over, being able to hug my husband without feeling like I have a huge pool floaty around me, etc. I can't wait to get this one out and be free again 😂

I was able do things like I used to pre-pregnancy pretty easily, but i find that I rest my hand on my belly like I did when baby was in there.. sometimes I miss it but when I do I just hold her and tell myself she's in my arms now
