This coming Monday it's my baby girl's funeral. I had pinned ALL my hopes on having her. It feels like I've lost everything. I feel disconsolate, scared and incredibly lonely. What do you hold onto at a time like this?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my baby girl too, and I had to attend her funeral, it was an awfully emotional day, but it gave me closure, knowing she was rested in peace. As a mother it’s the worse feeling having to leave your baby and I hated her being in the mortuary and then in the funeral home , so it was relief in a way.
All I can say is; cry as much as you can and let it all out. The grief does get easier , but it never leaves you. Losing a baby is the worse pain in the world.
I’m so sorry 😔 xxx

I’m so sorry for your loss mumma
It’s 5 years next week since losing my son and it’s the hardest day ever. I asked to be able to go and hold him before the funeral and then again after the service I went and held him until the car arrived to take him away for his cremation. I spent as much time as possible which him while I had the chance.
We were surrounded by all of our family and friends but I still felt so disconnected from the world and didn’t want to engage with anyone that day.
After the funeral was over I went and sat at the beach and just cried.
The next day after a good sleep I finally felt like I had some kind of peace and closure and could start grieving properly.
Everyone is so different in their way of grieving and their needs. Just do what is right for you. Speak up and ask for help if needed and done be afraid to ask for some space and privacy if you need that too.
You got this mumma.
Sending lots of love to you and your baby girl x
this sounds like me 100%
thank you. I hope I get some peace and closure, too.
this does matter. I must remember that. Thank you

I’m so sorry for your loss, I completely understand how you’re feeling, my 13 month olds funeral was on Friday and it was the worst day ever. The way I’m trying to hold on and keep it together is by constantly talking about him and looking through photos and going to his favourite places and talking to him still as if he’s still here. X
@ Mandi. Thank you. Scary is the right word, but as you say, I'll remind myself that this is okay and normal.
so sorry to hear this Olivia. Your words are incredibly moving. I can see your baby was very loved and it's wonderful how you're keeping his memory alive.
Thank you, Courtney. Do you mean a funeral garden or something else?
