Baby is now 1 year old and still won’t clap or wave. He says dads and sometimes mama. But that’s it. He crawls, pulls himself up and can let go to stand on his own. But why isn’t he clapping or waving? No high-fives or anything like that.

Same here! Not sure if this helps you but hey, someone else is going through the same thing.

I haven’t been able to get my daughter to clap yet but her dad travels for work and him waving at her on the phone helped teach her how to say hi

Every baby makes developments at their own pace, but if you are concerned you can ask your doctor about an ECI evaluation. Therapy can be very helpful, even if they only need it for a short period of time! My baby turns one in a couple days, and she JUST started army crawling. And she’s been in therapy since March. :)

None of my babies started clapping or waving before one, they crawled and walked around one years old. All babies develop differently at their own pace. You can always get a referral for early intervention

Social media (including this app) puts wayyyy too much pressure on us to have our babies doing what other babies are doing. Your baby sounds right on track to me, no need to panic or be concerned, keep showing him how to wave and how to clap and one day he will pick it up. Try to not get too fixated on one or two skills. If this was at 18 months i would be like okay somethings up, but at 11-12 months it’s completely normal to not have those skills in their skillset yet!
I just get so worried because everything I see (including Ms Rachel) waving and clapping should happen between 9-12 months

I saw that one episode where she saying babies should clap at 11 months and I thought for a sec about the pressure placed on us parents then we start thinking summin wrong with our babies. My 1 yr old says mama / dada, baby and understands no! So if he doesn’t clap yet I’m still grateful for what he’s doing. Don’t stress yourself mama!
