A couple weeks ago I posted about my child's father grabbing and squeezing my arm. I don't think he is a violent man, but it did make me anxious. I wanted to leave but my mum couldn't come to get me until 4 days later. In those 4 days I felt pressured to make amemds. But I can't shift the resentment and I just keep thinking about leaving. I can't bring myself to be honest because of the guilt. He's the father of my baby, we're engaged, and I know he genuinely tries to be a good parent and partner. But I often feel lonely and resentful. It's not been an easy journey from pregnancy to now. How can I have this conversation?

Why are YOU feeling guilt !!! HE HURT YOU !!!!
He should be on his hands and knees begging for your forgiveness not you feeling guilt because he’s a dad !!
If my husband did this to me it would be over. It’s boundary that can never be crossed with me and there’s no coming back. Never ok to lay a hand on your partner or anyone.

Smaller physical acts tend to just be the start and he’s clearly got something darker in him to do that so for me it would be over as soon as my partner put his hands on me but I can understand why you want to give him another chance, I would just calmly explain to him that if he touches you ever again it will be completely over (and please if you’re not going to leave now, make sure it is). I hope he is extremely apologetic and you should explain you’re finding it hard to forgive and forgot because he never should’ve done it in the first place!
You should not feel guilty at all, HE should!

Um I don't stand for any type of aggression rather in verbal or mild physical (grabbing your arm) all forms build up go the actual unthinkable abuse. If your resenting him it's clear you need to let it go and co parent especially the level of trust is completely broken at this point. No man would ever touch you or speak to you in a hostel manner. If your out of the house let him know it's over and stay safe with your mom . I wish you luck 🙏

don’t worry about a conversation- just focus on safely removing yourself from this situation.
reminder: a good partner will not ever put his hands on you. it’s that simple ❤️ don’t overthink it.

Form my experience it starts off small trust me girl trust me !!!!!!! My ex was like that but my now husband never yells at me never raised his hand to me anything nd that just goes to show not all men are abusive there are good men out there

I completely agree, wonderfully put 🫶🏻

You need to leave and get out before you talk to him. Usually, having a baby is going to increase stress and increase violent tendencies. He will be sleep deprived and not be able to control himself.
If my SO put his hands on me, I would be done. No more marriage, no more engagement. That is my boundary.
I would report it to the police to have it on file in case I need a restraining order later.

this is true. Especially since you "forgave him" for doing it, he feels like he can get away with it. You have done nothing wrong.
You say that youre taking your kids father away well you're not, he is still their father and can be a part of his life. He risks losing you and your son when he puts his hands on you. Imagine what he could do in the future. Please stay safe OP, go with your mom
Thank you all so much. I feel so stuck knowing how to approach this situation since he thinks everything is normal. I should never have stayed.
