Epidural question

I have a high pain tolerance and wanted to wait as long as possible so I didn't get it til the pain was unbearable and I believe I was around 6-7cm dilated at that point

3cm , i got induced and never dilated more then that. But i had been on 18 hours of pitocin 🥲

see I did that with my first 2 kids but I scream wen I’m in labor and would like to not be in so much pain this time around if at all possible so that I can maybe focus on my baby more than the pain.

Thats totally understandable! I was in labor for 14 hours but the pain wasn't that bad for me until around 10 hours in. After the epidural I felt so much relief within maybe 20-30 minutes but everyone is different. With the epidural I barely even felt my LO coming out lol

I was in labor for 28 hours by the time I got mine and had been given Pitocin, but was only about 3 cm. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I needed a nap.

You can get an epidural at any point that you’re admitted to before you start pushing. With my first pregnancy I got it around 4-5cm and this last time I got it around 8-9cm. Just know that the sooner you get it the more likely it is to wear off before push time. You can ask for other forms of pain relief before the epidural if you want to hold off on it until it comes closer to pushing.

I was in labor for 3 days I got the epidural at 8 centimeters when I couldn’t handle the pain anymore

I don’t see how it would wear off Bcs they give u the button to push for more👌

it doesn’t wear off, but they can only give you so much

they just gave me a button to push for when I needed more🤷‍♀️

Like Idk how much they give u or watever.

But mine took soooo long to wear off even after having my other 2 kids so I mean🤷‍♀️

I was in labor for roughly 16 hours before getting mine, but I was only roughly 4cm dilated. I was trying to wait as long as possible. But as soon as I got mine my labor stalled and they had to give me pitocin and break my water so I’m glad I got it when I did cause if I would’ve waited till after the pitocin I would’ve hated my life.

i was induced, they turned up my Pitocin at 6cm within 5 mins my water broke & i was DEMANDING epidural lmao i was saying my whole pregnancy i’m going to try to go natural but hell no 😂😂

I was about 7-8cm and almost couldn’t get it because I waited to long. I got my epidural about an hour before baby was born, and had I known I was going to progress that quickly I would have got it before they popped my water. Keep in mind you don’t necessarily get it as soon as you request it, I had to wait an additional 30 mins or so after I requested it.

I got induced and received the epidural at 4 cm. Unfortunately, my contractions stopped right after that and ended up having a csection.

I got mine at a solid 2cm 😂 I was a little wimp but I was terrified I wouldn’t be able to sit still if I waited. Best decision I made tbh.

I got it when I was like 3/4 I think. I could tolerate contractions but it was annoying and I just wanted to chill

I got induced with my first, so petocin contractions were brutal. I lasted like 3 hours then asked for the epidural, i was only 1 or 2 cm. With my second, i was in labor for 3 days. Day 3, i finally got admitted. I asked for the epidural when i reached 4 cm. I wanted to wait more but after 3 days of labor and no sleep i was over it. Both of my birthes ended up in csection 😭😭
