My son had this, it’s called “brick dust” caused by crystals in the urine. Has your milk come in yet? In our case it was a sign of dehydration and we had to supplement with a few syringes of formula until my milk came in on day 5.

We had this! Those are urate crystals which can mean baby is a little bit dehydrated. The health visitor wasn’t worried as it was only in one nappy x

Looks like it could be urate crystals which is also called brick dust…it can happen if baby is only a few days old and seems to be nursing plenty.

It isn’t always a concern but if it happens anymore you may want to call his pediatrician’s office and see what they advise you to do.
