I had my son on 7/29/24. When he was born it took almost a week for my milk to come in. During that time I was suffering from PP extremely hard and had restoration to pumping and giving him formula. The following week and a half I was doing a lot better emotionally and decided to try and breastfeed him. It seemed like a huge mistake as he no longer wanted to take my nipple. Which in turned triggered my PP again and sent me spiraling. Since then I have been feeling better, but it took awhile and I have started meds and therapy. I decided that breastfeeding is not for me and I am ok with that. But I still do pump. I am on the fence about stopping pumping. The past day I have been trying to cut back and do shorter sessions. Besides the pain of it all I feel like it’s on the verge of triggering my hormones again. For the first time since started meds I have woken up in a cold sweat and feeling anxious. In general I hate pumping, and whatever I produce is just a mere snack for my son. I do love feeding my son breast milk and that I am providing him nutrients. I just hate the whole process of getting. I do know that he is getting enough for the formula and that being 100% on formula is ok too. Anyone feel the same way or have any suggestions? Or would like to share their experience?

If you’d like to stop completely I suggest not pumping at all only hand expression in the shower to avoid swelling and placing cabbage leaves in your bra, also avoid any foods that helped your supply and drink a little less water like 4-5 bottles not 6-7 a day
