Longest wake window for 11 months

Just wondering what the longest your 11- (almost 12 month) old’s wake window is?
My LO has a big issue with the afternoon nap which I know is common at this age, but it’s just wearing me out. She just resists the nap because she’s not tired enough most days. When I do finally manage to get her down it’s so late in the afternoon that I wake her again after 20-30 min depending on the time. She’s then pretty grumpy and weepy for a while. Just wondering if it’s worth all the effort or if I should just let her skip it and push through to bedtime.

Curious how other moms are doing it. I’m not sure she could make it all the way to bedtime but I just hate the endless battle of wills every day

We’ve just got really long days at the moment, as she isn’t ready for 1 nap but needs long wake windows. So we’re waking up at ~6.30am, first wake window of 3h15m, nap of between 1-1.30h, second wake window of 3h45m, nap of approx 1h (max 2.30h sleep in a day so I wake her when she reaches that), then last wake window of 4h15, and bedtime at around 8.30pm.

I’ve started the early wake up now too to try improve things. Yesterday went beautifully. Today not so much 😅 it’s currently 4pm and she’s been awake since 11:30. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We’ve just moved to 1 nap. We do 6.30ish wake. Nap by 11:45/12 for at least 2 hours - I don’t tend to let her nap past 3pm and aim for bed by 8. My little girl turned 1 yesterday

We are still on two naps. Wakes about 6:30/7, nap 9-9:30, nap 1/1:30-3, bed 7:30. We always do the first nap either in the pram on a walk, or in the car. And always cap it at 30 mins. Any longer and the afternoon nap is ruined and the whole day becomes a struggle 🥲

that’s amazing I’m glad that’s working for you! Will definitely monitor if I can try a similar pattern

that’s really interesting that you reduce the first nap! I’ve been thinking of trying that too. Thanks for sharing

We are between 2 and 1 nap but pushing for 1 as she completely refused her afternoon nap yesterday. 2 naps we might get 2 short ones but 1 nap we get a good 2 hours. Means her wake windows are 5ish hours which is a stretch but she can manage. 1 at the end of this month.

We’ve ditched the second nap along time ago (she’s one next week).
She wakes up between 7-8:30 - naps around 12-2, then has lunch, dinner around 5-6, bed 7-8

we have just moved onto one nap for this reason ( i play it by ear some days she’s tired enough for two naps but mostly not ) wake at 7:30 , nap at 12-1:30/2 then bedtime at 8 some days are rougher than others but she’s getting there , 1 on the 22nd x

if you are on Instagram, I recommend having a look at blissfulbabyexpert1 account. I take her recommended routines with a pinch of salt but I’ve found them generally to be pretty good for us

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7
