I mentioned reflux issues to one of the maternity workers when I had my daughter and she recommended raising one end of the cot using books underneath the matress that might help a little? X
@Victoria thankyou for your comment. I just feel so much for her. My aunty suggested raising the mattress in her cot and I was going to have a try. She’s very mobile in her cot now so was a little worried she’d be rolling all over the place. Shes not yet crawling but rolling all over the place and we often find her on her front horizontal in the morning 😂 xx I might give this a go tonight - thankyou!
@Naomi thank you Naomi 😊 I’m going to give this a go tonight - need to find a good thick book to put underneath. Hopefully it helps 🤞🤞 x
No, put some books under the feet of the cot to raise the top of it
Only some prams are safe for overnight sleep, so I’d say no. I know it’s hard when they’re poorly, but raised one end of the cot - I use rolled up towels, baby snuffle babe, calpol plug in are my go to’s when baby is poorly x
we had covid last xmas and I read putting cut up onion under the cot helped so I did. now i dont kniw if it did help but she was certainly settled coincidence I don't know.
You could also Google safe chest sleeping if that's the only way she will sleep. That way you can sleep too x
Do you have a next to me? Next to me cribs can be tilted for this reason, also have you tried using the nasal aspirators? I found those a life saver with my youngest, she struggles with her nose to x
Thank you all so much for your helpful comments. @ Gabi - she’s in her own cot in her own room as she grew out of the next to me cot at 6 months. Yes to the nasal aspirator, I’ve tried to use it a few times on her and the times she’s not thrown a paddy and battered it out of my hands it has helped her a little bit. I’ve now popped a book under the mattress so her head is raised a little bit. She’s been asleep now for 40 mins or so, so fingers crossed we have a better night. Thank you all again - I hope to have some better sleep tonight 😴😴😴
Hi there, I let mine sleep in the pram at night. I don't think it hurts them. He often goes in there if he doesn't want to lay flat. Suffers with reflux. I just make sure he's strapped in 5 point harness ( anti - houdini strap) and I have the camera watching him. It's not ideal but atleast he gets some sleep and so do I.
@Sarah please look up positional asphyxiation, it’s fatal and one of the reasons why you shouldn’t let baby sleep in a bouncer or car seat over night like was recommended when we were babies
He's 13 months now and have been putting him in the pram, since he could sit up unaided. You could also try raising one side of the cot like the others said. Hope little one feels better soon.
I would say do what you need to do to get you both some sleep. If your LO is more settled in the pram when poorly then why wouldn't you
I used to raise my LO's (now toddler) head using blankets underneath the mattress. And I'd hold here in place with blankets rolled alongside her torso and legs. Nothing above the torso so it doesn't end up getting in her face
Poor little one ❤️ When my eldest was younger we use to have to have one side of the cot raised due to reflux issues. I don’t know if it would help but could you raise one side of the cot. We put blankets under the mattress, that way she wouldn’t be completely flat x
