After a pumping session, should we be cleaning the parts every time or is it ok to wipe it? I’m trying to pump every 3 hours and cleaning/sanitizing every session seems like a lot. I clean/sanitize all the parts at the end of the day. What is everyone’s cleaning routine??

I was told in the hospital clean and sterilise after every use

I wipe down and put them in the fridge till next use x
what wipes do you use?

Sterilise once a day, wipe down after each pump and put straight in the fridge! Xx

Until my baby was 3 months old I did clean and sterilize after every use. That is recommended with bottles as well up to three months.
After 3 months, I rinse and keep parts in the fridge for up to 3 days and then clean them. After 6 months I stopped sterilizing anything unless I had just bought it I will sterilize before first use if it’s safe to do so.

I just wash them with hot soapy water and then rinse in hot water after each use, but I don’t sterilise them. I was told by my midwife they only need to be sterilised when new, but not when using them because breast milk unlike formula has really good antibacterial properties x
Thanks everyone!!

I took a breastfeeding course and they told me that if you put the parts in the fridge afterwards you don’t have to clean them after every feed but just to make sure you clean them at the end of the day
