Anyone else/advice?

Think we have made a rod for our own backs with our 8 week old! We are both back at work (baby comes with us) and so we baby wear a lot when we are there. Our little girl gets really cranky if she is up over her wake window. However she is now so used to being put to sleep/falling asleep in the sling that she now won’t fall asleep anywhere else during the day. Apart from the car! When we take her out of the sling after 20 mins in the hope she will stay asleep in the crib we have at home or at work in the office she just wakes up. We make sure she is in the dark, use white noise etc and nothing seems to work. She just will not fall asleep anywhere else. It’s ok at the moment but we want to get her to a stage where she can be put down as she gets bigger. Is anyone else’s baby similar or anyone have any helpful tips?

It’s possibly just an age thing and would have been the same even if you didn’t do all the naps in there. My baby was 8 weeks yesterday and is pretty much the same for all naps and he only goes in the sling once a day if that. The only proper naps he has is in the sling or on a long walk, or out and about in the car seat.

I would agree with the above too, my baby will nap in the snuz or Moses basket for like half an hour max but on me or pram will nap for hours I think it’s an age thing x

Thanks and 😊 I think I struggle as well because she fights sleep so bad and just cries! Only place she will fall asleep really without crying is on my boob or in the car, or in the sling if we catch it at the right time on a walk xx

I think it’s an age thing. I’ve found the older they get the less transferable they are unless they’re in deep sleep. Which in a nap seems like over an hour for my child so it’s not worth it

Mines 9 weeks and he’s quite good at sleeping independently, we got a dock a tot type thing and I pop it on the sofa with me so I can cuddle and coo over him in that and sometimes he’ll sleep for hours in it, it’s a real life saver ❤️

Awww we have a cocoonababy and it was a game changer the first month! Doesn’t work anymore now tho. She will chill in it but not sleep! Xx

Have you tried swaddling? The pressure of the swaddle may mimic the compression of baby’s body in the sling x

Definitely an age thing, you won’t have made a rod for your own back, don’t worry! She’ll get there!
Have you tried putting one of your tops in her crib - the smell of you might help, I have done this with both of my children 😊

i find my baby fights sleeps/cries after her feeds too! Find it so confusing to know whether i’m just expecting her to go to sleep too soon or she’s ‘overtired’

I could have written this! My back is breaking from having my 8wo on me all day long - it’s a killer!!

I think it's common at this age. My first was the same and she grew out of it. My 2nd is now going through a similar stage and she used to be great at sleeping in the basket.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
