People with more than 1 kid, did your second come earlier than your first? Also which baby was bigger?

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and starting to freak out. There's still so much I have to do. Just recently was told we might be moving states before baby boy is born (from IL to TX). My daughter was born early at 36 weeks and 4 days, weighing in at 5lbs 7oz. I've heard the second baby typically comes around the time of your first or before and is bigger. Like on average, 1-2 days before your first came. My ob asked me how big my daughter was and when I told her, she was oh she was little thing. And I told her yeah but she was little early. She seemed to get a little worried and said she wants me to do an extra growth scan before then to try and make sure he isn't born that early. I'm also just starting to get anxiety about how little time I actually have left..

2nd baby did not come earlier. 42w. But labour was way shorter. 8hrs, and 24hrs for my first. And baby was bigger. 7”7 and 5”4 was my first.

Most second babies are about 4 ounces bigger than the first.

Second came sooner and was bigger

Both pregnancies were spontaneous labor at exactly 37+6. My second was bigger (8lb4oz) than my first (7lb12oz)

They came the same exact day but my first was induced so my second would have been earlier and was a few ounces bigger than my first

Second came sooner and was bigger

First: 41+3 at 6.14 pounds
Second: 42 weeks (induced) at 6.12 pounds
I think my babies are naturally smaller and late bloomers

Avatar

First was over a week late and had to be induced. (7lb 7oz)
Second was natural labor and born on due date. (6lb 13oz)

My aunt had her second child even LATER than her first that was already late. And her second was a pound heavier than first.

My sister had her 1st at 37 weeks her second was born 39 weeks, 3rd also 39 weeks. Both baby 2&3 were bigger than first.

If you’re concerned, definitely something to be mindful of and talk over with your ob (as it seems you have) but it is not guarantee that your second will be as early or earlier than your first.

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
