I have a planned c section for the 11/11/24 and was told if I go into labour in the meantime, they assess you and either encourage natural birth or you go for an emergency c section

My baby was breach and on the day when I had an appointment to get my c section booked my waters broke at home. We went to the hospital straight away and I had section 6 hours later.

This happened to me!! My water broke but I didn’t have any contractions or anything. I called the hospital and they told me to come in and get assessed. I went in and had my baby by c section by 5:30pm!! 💙
All situations are different but definitely go in and get assessed is the number one thing to do I would say!

I got told that if I did go into labour before my C-section to go in right away at the first sign of labour and it would become an emergency one. They didn’t even mention doing a natural birth

Yeah you just go in straight away and they do it asap for you, just call up and make them aware you are coming in, happened to me with my first

You go to hospital, it’s not an emergency section though, it would be considered unplanned. Emergency is when there is a threat to life for you or baby.
Thanks all this is good
To know , I’m only 26 weeks pregnant and due to gd and on insulin and my sugars are still all over the place , so am opting for a c section as he was measuring big at my 20 week scan but never thought to ask about it hat if waters go at home, so thank you all for your replies it’s much appreciated it x

My waters went 3am the morning of my planned section, they just brought me forward from last to first but If needed they would of just took me in as “emergency but not rushed emergency”

oh wow was baby born breech

I would think they would encourage you to have a vaginally delivery if things are okay to go forward with that. If the babybis breached or something serious, you would have an emergency csection. Good luck!
