My step mum ( who is a midwife) said to me yesterday that as I haven’t really felt any movement throughout my pregnancy apart from when I lay on my side ( I am 32 weeks) that I will most likely be induced however I haven’t been told this by my own midwife or anyone at the hospital. Obvs this has shocked me as I wasn’t prepared ( I mean who is ?! 😂) has anyone else been induced due to lack of movement ?

I got induced at 37 weeks near 38 due to lack of movement. They only told me 4 days before they where going to do it. Also if you get induced it can be so long. She didn't end up coming it I was exactly 39 weeks so spent a long week and a few days in the hospital x
Yes my step mum said that they will speak to me about it at 26 weeks. I have a scan at 36 weeks so they may mention then. I also have a scan today to

She's giving you the heads up. I actually prefer this, I hate that they don't tell you anything and hold stuff back. How can we make informed choices without the information?
:) you got this through
thank you. Yeah I am glad but was surprised. I had in my head I wanted a water birth. That won’t be happening 😂😭
How long did it take for your baby to be here after the induction ?

How many weeks are you? In your post you’ve said you’re 32 weeks but in the comments said you have a scan at 26 weeks?
I’d imagine that yes they would induce for reduced movements, but from what you’ve said your movements haven’t reduced, they’ve stayed the same, so I don’t see it being an issue.
You don’t have to agree to an induction either if you don’t want to.
sorry I have edited that it was meant to say 36 week scan. I have never felt kicks unless on my side which is only like 1-2 kicks x

Have they said why? I have an anterior placenta but feel things all the time. What other reasons are there for not feeling movement at this stage?
no idea. My placenta is anterior. They have just said to try and keep an eye on movement and lay on my side more to get her to kick x

I have a friend who had veeeeery little movements with her baby, ivf baby and she was over 40, she insisted on not being induced and she even had a home birth which went very well. All of that to say you are allowed to say you don't want to be induced as long as your baby is healthy and not in distress etc. You can ask for monitoring and extra scans but say you want to avoid being induced with drugs. Did they say if you'd have a sweep or be chemically induced? Good luck to you and don't forget you have a voice! 🫶🏼
thank you. They haven’t said anything at all atm it was just my step mum who said it

Oohh OK, yes sorry I forgot you said. See what they say and you can make an informed decision after that. 😊
