I am almost 37 weeks and baby is lying breech so I am being booked in for a c-section at around 39 weeks - does anyone know how long it usually takes for the date to come through?
Also if anyone could share their experience of a c-section at York hospital that would be great - it wasn’t my plan A so I am trying to get my head round it still!

Had an emergency section at York and the staff were amazing. It was a really traumatic birth but couldn’t fault York at all xx

Had an emergency c section after induction at York. Couldn't fault the hospital at all. Would just advise you to get some big seamless knickers, preferably a size bigger and disposable pants with pad in to help with recovery afterwards.

On the day you go in please check that your bed works properly. I had a bit of a nightmare as my bed was broken but we only realised straight after the C-section. And then I was told that I couldn't be move into another bed. So I was trying to cuddle and feed my baby laid flat. At one point with staff either side trying to pull me up abit and shove pillows behind me. I honestly think it affected my recovery as I didn't get up until the next morning. And I couldn't reach my baby after my husband left.
But individually all staff were nice.
