Do you ever go out in the evening when it should be babies bedtime? We have a meal to go to next week at 6:30 and some fireworks the following day. My baby normally goes to bed at 6:30 and gets REALLY cranky from about 5pm. I want to take her to experience things but it seems impossible. Do you take your babies out of their routine for a night and if so, does it completely mess them up?

Does your baby sleep in her pram? I've found she will just take an extra nap and then I put her down slightly later when I'm back and it's usually fine.

We do it all the time. She’ll just sleep in her push chair / car seat / our laps / wherever suitable at the time. We never wanted to be restricted xx
sometimes she will. But she gets really hysterical when shes tired. We’ve never taken her out in the evening so i’m panicing a bit

We do it on occasion but mostly stick to the routines. Depends on whether it’s worth them being grumpy or not or whether they’ll nap instead.

We have 2 we can't always stick to the 8pm bedtime, it doesn't mess up his routine on the one-off. We do tend to take all nighttime stuff with us so he's ready for bed and let him go sleep on the car journey home. The only thing to remember is you might be looking after a cranky baby and not exactly enjoying the experience but I've found it to be ok

We don’t usually have evening plans with two little ones, but I don’t mind disrupting the routine once in a while. We’re going to the fireworks on Sunday so I’ll just bung her in the carrier and either she’ll sleep through or she’ll enjoy watching them. For the meal I would hopefully get her off to sleep in the pram, if you have a portable white noise machine and a Rockit, even better!

Mine is always grumpier at home than when I take her out, but your mileage may vary x I would try it once and then at least you'd know and aren't restricting yourself out of fear.

I don’t change bedtime for either of my kids (I can push it by 30mins but any longer and they are cranky and it mayhem (3 and 5 months old). I have no problem changing routines in the mornings or daytime but come bedtime I am very strict. I’ve had too many evenings ruined by trying to keep them up that I now don’t bother.

We are always out and about with our friends and family. We will stick to a rough routine and put him down in the car seat, pram, our arms or wherever really. I’ve found it super hard adjusting to motherhood and really miss my old lifestyle so we’ve tried to keep it as similar as possible - with added baby. He is used to it but sometimes if it’s a bit of a loud environment it can take slightly longer.

Sometimes I will, it depends on what it's for! We don't have family locally, so tbh it's rare that we would have plans in the evening after babys bedtime. I'm taking my older kids to a firework display at the weekend, but my partner will stay home with baby as we decided that she will either be mesmerised by it or she will scream, probably the latter 😅

Yes fairly regularly, as much as routine is great, you can't put your life on hold for a baby's bed time! 😬 One late night won't ruin your routine xx
