I was told twice I was having a girl so had EVERYTHING girly including painting the nursery and only found out I was having a boy after I gave birth… not much I could do about it! He just had to wear pink for the first couple of days while I got boy stuff 😂 x
I would believe the scan at 20 weeks since it’s further on and the sonographers will be more experienced It’s the what they call a ‘shy boy’! I’d definitely tell the private ultrasound place though and they should offer a free rescan xx
Unfortunately at 16 weeks it can still be a bit too early to tell, it’s better at at least 18 weeks as sometimes you can be told girl but it’s just because a boy isn’t developed enough to be able to see yet I always take my private scan with a pinch of salt and then start buying after the 20 week scan as 99% of the time they get it right though really we can never be fully sure until we give birth 😅
I know a few people who were told girl at 20 week scan and bought and sorted everything for a girl but then had a growth scan later on and found out it was actually a boy 🤦♀️ I believe, boys can hide their parts depending on angle so can be told girl and be wrong but if you’re told boy it’s more than likely correct x
I think once you’ve seen a boy is a boy it’s hard to miss, I’d trust the 20weeks one. Even though you don’t mind, sorry this happened as I’m sure you’ve been getting used to the idea of a girl for the past month. Must feel a bit weird to get your head around. I would get another scan to give me some certainty or you could get a blood test. I’m sure you could resell the clothes on vinted.
Window to the womb told me i was having a boy at my 16 week scan...went to my 20 week NHS one and they said I was having a girl..I asked nhs sonographer to double check as we'd been told he was a boy and low and behold she was wrong and he was in fact a boy.
An update Window to the womb think they might have got it wrong and I'm being rescanned tomorrow
@Lucy omg that’s insane how many weeks were you told girl and was there nothing in between legs? X
@Jessica do you have any update or images from the 16 week one please going through same thing
@Elora I was told at my 20 week scan that I was having a girl PLUS we had 2 growth scans after that where they checked and never saw anything either!! Was obviously a little both of a shock but we’re so happy 😂 x
@Lucy aww he was meant to be funny story to tell him when he grows up, kinda doubting my 16 weeks one as it was so rushed, do u have any potty shots of when they told u girl
@Elora 100% this will be a funny story! We have a couple but looking at 1 of them now it’s kinda obvious to me he was a boy 😬 don’t know how we all missed it 😂
@Jessica what did the rescan show? Xx
@Jessica did u get a potty shot of when they said girl, crazy how they can get it mistaken

@Laura was wrong was a boy. Apparently as soon as we left the other sonographer said that was a boy and they had a row but they never called me back in!!
@Elora hey yes we did. We ended up getting a refund but not without a fight. At first they didn't even apologize. The sonographer assistant apparently challenged as soon as we left an said it was wrong gender given. But they never called us back to check again. Useless wouldn't ever recommend the girls were so rude in the clinic
Ring them and tell them you’ve been told different at your nhs scan, they might offer a rescan. I was told 2 girls when having my twins privately but then at my 20 weeks scan got told boy and girl - the 20 weeks was correct x
