Anyone have any insight into how long this 4 month sleep regression lasts for.. we are too days in and I’m already struggling with the sleep deprivation 🤦🏼♀️ would be nice to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel 🤞🏼

I’m in the same boat however a week down the line I’m afraid to say😭🙈just, I don’t suppose your LO is feeding WAY more to?!

How is your baby settling to sleep? Are they waking every 45 minutes-1 hour? X

yes literally she’s desperate to get on the boob as soon as she wakes up. It’s like she hasn’t fed for ages even though she’d done a decent feed like an hour prior! 🤦🏼♀️ oh god I hope you’re out of it soon. I’m dying after two days, I can’t imagine how you must feel after a week of it already x

she always falls asleep on me.. most of the time at night she feeds to sleep. At the minute she’s waking every hour to hour and a half at the moment! It’s a killer x

It lasted about 6 months for us but it did get better on its own. We nursed at every wake or rocked if nursing didn’t get him back off, held until in a deep sleep and transferred. Eventually he went back to sleeping long stretches & now we’re in the 12 month regression 😅x

oh god a long time then 🤦🏼♀️ she goes back down easily after feeding luckily (at the moment anyways) praying it stays that way at least. Oh god a 12 month sleep regression 🤦🏼♀️ something else to look forward to lol

Mine is just a lil over 2yo now. Mamas, 4m is just the start of it all. It's lasts few a few weeks then when it starts settling down the next one comes 😜 1&2yo was the killer. 2 being the worst lasting for what felt like 3m (stalling bedtime, late to no naps, early wakes = total exhaustion)
Hang in there 💪 (your bodies will get used to it soon, or crash after x days like me 🤣)

oh so much more to look forward to then lol 😂 can’t wait lol

apparently this is an issue because they start being aware when they wake up that they have been moved and they dont like it. I only know what i have been learning from emma hubbard on youtube, she is very knowledgeable on child development and sleep x

sure do 🤣
It helps take stress off your shoulders if your other half or someone helps with settling. When they're going through regression, it's the best time to start sleep training and let them self settle.
I unfortunately don't, as my hubby left me solo for FIFO after 6.5m of having him home, so I struggled big time and my PPD came back in full swing. When he comes home routines, are always thrown out the window and LO never goes down with him. Hubby also kicked himself out of the room to sleep on his own after starting a few months, so I'm pretty much single parenting...😒😑
PS sorry I just started my lil rant there in your post 🫢

9 weeks for us! I just want you to please remember that it will end and your doing nothing wrong. It will pass on its own and become a distant memory. Hang in there xx

Ours lasted 3/4 weeks but is much better now, remember this will pass, you've got this mamma x

my baby has always been rocked or fed and transferred and has learned to link sleep cycles independently some of the time entirely by himself. Sometimes he wakes hourly but can also sleep stretches up to 7 hours at a year old and he’s never been put in his cot awake in his life. I’ve also never left him to ‘learn’. Sleep is developmental, they all get there in their own time. Sleep consultants and the like profit off of sleep deprived mums pushing this narrative that sleep can be taught and comforting your baby is ‘wrong’. It gets better without any intervention 😊 x

she is not a sleep consultant, she is well educated (as in, has studied this) and all babies are different so one person’s experience is not universal. This person is struggling so they may appreciate advice since what they have always done is not working for them anymore.

I thought my LG was going through the 4 month sleep regression but we’re now 2.5 months in, and if anything it’s getting worse 🤣🤣 co-sleeping has been the only saving grace. I’ll start with her in the next ti me but after the 3rd/4th wake up, she comes into bed with me🤣
Sorry I can’t offer any advice, but I can offer solidarity 🤣😩x

Ummmm I hate to say it but it doesn’t really end. 😭 BUT the light at the end of the tunnel is that you basically kind of start over so you have to figure out what helps them sleep get a routine down etc. it feels like it’s literally impossible but once you find out the secret it feels like a giant accomplishment like you graduated from Harvard LOL

oh god bless you! I’m absolutely petrified of co sleeping although a lot of mums have recommended it! She’s sleep but I don’t think I’d be able to relax knowing she’s sleeping in my bed 🙈

I’m praying this is the case. A lot of mums are saying over 2 months 🤦🏼♀️ I’m only 2 days in of really bad nights maybe like a week total of it getting progressively worse. I don’t think I can take 2 months lol

oh that’s a long time 😭 did you just get use to it after a while? I’m dreading it lol x

Roll on the day i figure it out and she sleeps through the night 🙏🏼🤞🏼

no I didn't get used to it. It was horrendous at the time! But everything passes xx

It lasted 7 weeks with our son. Unfortunately we were just coming out of it and he got hfm, then went on holiday which unsettled him

, is right, with my LO he was rocked to sleep then cried every hour after waking up. Sleep training to go to sleep on his own after bottle/ bedtime routine was the only way we got out of this x
