Positive stories please

Hi! I had my post-dates appointment this morning and the midwife said although my cervix was soft and short, she could only just get the tip of one finger in so couldn’t do a sweep. Any positive stories of people going into spontaneous labour still with this happening? I’m 40+4. Thanks

I know someone who went in with contractions and was told she was 1cm. 30 minutes later she had her baby. It's not a great indicator of labour, I refused cervical checks and sweeps for this reason, but unfortunately it's all they have to go off. I hope you get to see your baby very soon, good luck!! 🥰

No experience of going into labour so just offering some solidarity haha I just wanted to say I went in at 40+3 the other day for a sweep and cervix was far back and hard, so also failed sweep. It’s such a mind game, but trying to stay positive knowing that it isn’t always an indication of labour. Xx

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
