What does “sleeping through the night” mean?

I have a 2 month old and I keep reading babies “sleeping through the night” are we talking sleeping 5 hours? Like from 9pm to 2am? Or 12 hours from 9-9? My baby will have his days where he’ll wake up every 3 hours to eat & other nights where he only wakes up once at like 4am. Is that “sleeping through the night”? My husband and I are late sleepers, we sleep around midnight / 1am. So it’s hard to tell when his last feeding is for the night.

My LO started sleeping through the night at 3 months and she is currently 8 months. We have a routine where we shower her at 7pm or 8pm and she falls asleep usually within 30 mins. For example she will sleep from 8:30pm to 7/8am. We also started dream feeding her at almost four months so that allowed her to sleep through the night.

around what time is your dream feed? Also is your baby breast feed or formula fed?

Sleeping through the night at that age is considered anything that’s 4+ hours stretch.

Hi Fahima! My husband and I are also late sleepers so it’s hard to tell when his last feeding is. My baby is pretty consistent in eating every 2 hours however during night time like after midnight/1am he either wakes up every hour or every 2-3. I’m actuslly struggling with him wanting to sleep after night timr feedings or for his stretches to be longer. Is your baby formula fed? Do you swaddle your baby?

The huckleberry app congratulated me when my son first had a stretch of 7 hours at 2 months old. The message read that a 6 hour stretch of sleep is considered sleeping through the night.

My baby didn’t sleep through the night till probably 3 months old his bed time was 10pm id shower him around 8:30 give him a good feed when he gets out then around 9:40 I’ll change him nd since I breast feed I’ll feed him again while he goes to sleep 10pm he’s out till probably 8am or 9am he’ll wake up once sometimes at 4am or 5am that’s about it

we combo fed but I would pump and leave bottles for my husband to dream feed her when he would take the night shift. So dream feed around 12:30am to 1am. He’s a night owl and can handle being up later. I no longer breastfeed. I have an autoimmune so being off medication for four months was all my body could handle.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
