Does this seem right?

I went to my 36 week checkup and my dr did that strep test which I knew was coming, but every time I go in he does an ultrasound to check baby’s position. 3 weeks ago he was head down. At my 36 week ultrasound he was laying sideways and at my appt the other day he was head up with his feet crossed where his head should be. I’ve been feeling all the kicking low now. My dr told me he wanted to schedule a c section for 2 weeks out (38 weeks) if he doesn’t flip back by my next appointment.

I had my first naturally, no meds and my previous dr never did all these ultrasounds. So I just feel like my new dr is rushing it. I feel like laboring is a natural thing and the baby comes when they are ready unless there is an emergency of course.

Am I wrong to deny the c section unless it’s an absolute necessity? I’ve had one surgery which I regret and if I was on my holistic journey as I have been now I would have never gotten it.

I think it's totally acceptable to refuse the surgery and wait it out to see if the baby flips back. Too many doctors want to jump to c-sections in my opinion. Just be reasonable and open to the fact that he may not flip back.

Ask him why? What are the benefits? What are the risk? Is it necessary?

If you don’t have a high risk pregnancy i don’t see why he wants to do a C-Section at 38 weeks. Supposedly a healthy pregnancy goes all the way to 40 weeks pregnant.

I personally have never heard of that many ultrasounds unless there was a medical reason to do so. I did get an ultrasound at 37 weeks because I’m over the age of 35, otherwise they just check baby’s position by touching my belly when they measure.

It does suck that your baby flipped, they probably want to do the c section to avoid you going into labor with baby sitting breech. I would be tempted to wait too to see if baby flipped back, but also did he even offer an ECV before jumping to c section? Like there’s spinning babies, external massage, lots of other things you can try before assuming c section .

Wow, my Dr won't induce for vaginal or section until 39 weeks. I had to have an emergency csection with my 4th child bc he was breech, I wad 8 and a half cm dilated and they felt his foot. Good luck with things

I just had a successful ECV to flip my breech baby at 37 weeks. Generally they like to do an ecv between 37-38 weeks. Because this is your second baby the odds of a successful ecv are higher. Make sure to get the most experienced doctor you can if you get this procedure as it’s a skilled technique.
Before my baby flipped I was looking into breech deliveries. Some more natural/holistic minded directors will do them though they’re few and far between. My doctor told me they don’t deliver breech babies anymore because there’s 5% chance of hypoxia/oxygen deprivation. There’s also still a decent chance baby will flip back on its own.

right?! My baby is measuring 2 weeks small and my insurance will still only pay for a growth monitoring every 4 weeks so I had one at 32 weeks and one this coming up at nearly 37 weeks.

I got out of work and have been doing a lot of what I read on the internet to get him to flip but like I said too I didn’t have this many ultrasounds either with my first.
I’ll ask about the ECV at my next appointment. I heard it is painful

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Invited to a chuckie cheese party but I don't have money and don't want to tell my daughter that's why we can't go. Does anyone know how their parties work?

I'm not sure how chuckie cheese parties are. If they give you money to play or not if you're in the party. And then I'm wondering if it's an actual birthday party or if they're just going to chuckie cheese. Some guy in my building told me a couple weeks ago that his son's birthday is today and he's thinking of doing chuckie cheese. They sent an invite but I feel so insecure not being able to afford anything. Like if they don't have food for example. Idk what to do.

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet driving them mad?? It goes off 5/6 times night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off! Anyone had similar issues?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.
