You should report straight away. If there's any complications or anything they can help you, even if doing privately it's always good to have it as a backup

I’ve waited until this week. I’m 7 weeks now. I’ve had a lot on previous to this and didn’t see the point. They won’t see you until 8 weeks anyway unless they have special reason to.

I did it as soon as I found out, about 4 weeks. They couldn't get me in for an appointment until I was 9 weeks. But they did call me this week to get me in earlier as they said 9 weeks was a bit late.

I reported mine at 4 weeks. My NHS Trust use Badger Notes so I got an email for the app and a questionnaire. Now I have my first appointment next week.

Thanks everyone, last time I reported too early and after a mc cancelling all the appointments was a pain, some hospitals you have to call and wait for a while.

I did it at 6w 6d but now I'm 9w tomorrow and haven't heard so think I left it too late

if the first scan is at week 12 anyway, what do they do before that?

You have a booking appointment with the midwife’s so they take bloods check fbc and test for things like hep, hiv etc and take urine sample they will also talk to you through your health and family health and do a risk assessment and book you in for your 16 week midwife appointment

If you want any NHS care/scans during pregnancy, you will have to have a booking appointment first. This is where they assess your pregnancy risk level to determine whether you'll be under midwife led care or overseen by an obstetrician. If you want to have the 12 week NHS scan, you should let them know sooner rather than later. They are very busy. It's not like you can let them know at 11 weeks and they'll slot you in for a scan at 12 weeks. I do appreciate it must've been traumatic to have to cancel appointments after a miscarriage, but if you want care for this pregnancy you should let them know. There is no benefit to waiting.

I’d follow up again- I had the same so contacted the GP again on Friday after waiting 2 weeks. Turned out the drs hadn’t notified the midwife 🙄 Midwife reached out right away and I have my first appointment on Tuesday

@Alex I contacted the GP who confirmed twice they had passed the details on, then I contacted the local midwives who said they don't think they referred me correctly/at all so they're seeing me Tuesday now! X
