MAM Bottles

We have some MAM anti colic bottles which we are eager to start using, but need suggestions on how to heat them up!
We would rather not buy a bottle warmer if possible :)

Microwaving isn’t recommended because it doesn’t heat the liquid equally so can increase the risk of burning your baby’s mouth. I know plenty of people do use that technique though, I don’t personally.
The safest way is hot water in a jug and then test the temp on your wrist before feeding it to baby x

Defo don’t microwave as it can cause hot spots in the milk. We literally run ours under hot tap or pop it in a jug, if you get them used to having it luke warm or even cool it’s a game changer and so much easier in a hurry in the night waiting for the hot tap to heat up!

I use mam, we put a hot shot in with the formula and put the rest of the water in our nuby rapid cool to then add to the bottle. Cools it down in 40 seconds to the perfect temperature, I personally wouldn’t recommend microwave for the above reasons x

I know you said you don't want to buy a bottle warmer but what about a prep machine ( people will be for and against this so make your own judgement, I'm onto my 3rd child using one and never had any issues )

Just commenting again to add I also use the hot shot method Taikeihsa said about and it’s so quick and easy - quicker than heating up a pre-made bottle!

Put it in a jug of warm water or run it under warm water for a few minites

If making up fresh you won’t need to warm it up as it’ll already be warm.

If you are warming up ready made or expressed breast milk you can just sit in a jug of warm water but make sure you take the top off (the whole screw but not just the cap) as they suck up water otherwise

We used to have a bottle warmer and it was essentially just a jug of boiling water so you may as well put the bottle in an equivalent for a few mins. If you're using stored breastmilk in bags, I found that they heat up really quickly so tend to just warm the bag under hot running water then pour it into the bottle.

1. NEVER shake the bottle.
2. I use Mam bottled and also microwave her milk when it’s the middle of the night but usually I use the Tommie Tippee bottle warmer and that works just fine

Get a bottle warmer that’s what I use

Seconding to never shake!! we used the Dr browns formula pitcher to prepare the day’s formula and then put it in the microwave just enough to get the chill off, swirled it, and tested it of course. It doesn’t have to be warm, should just feel like almost nothing touched your skin.

Water takes forever to heat mam bottles because of the thick bottom.
If you don’t have/wanna buy something like a formula pitcher, mixing with a fork after warming the water always gave us good results.

I use a prep machine,
Makes to the perfect temperature x

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
