How do you forgive yourself after letting your baby roll off the bed? :(

I feel ever so awful after my baby rolled off our 2 feet high bed onto the floor on his tummy. He did not hit his head and on examination was unhurt but we still took him to the hospital. The doctor said he was unharmed too. But despite this I am finding it so hard to forgive myself for letting this happen. I had left the room with my baby asleep on the bed next to my husband who was also asleep. I had checked to make sure the barricade that I’d set up covering half of the bed was secure. But it turns out my active baby moved down and rolled past the barricade :( I rushed to the room after hearing a little thud followed by my baby wailing.

I keep kicking myself for not having our usual guardrail up since we had given up our bedroom to guests who were visiting. We normally follow the Lullaby Trust’s safe cosleeping guidelines. This one time we did not have the guardrail up.

I find myself wishing we had never invited those guests and that we had not given them our bedroom, that I had not left the room, that we had put pillows on the floor and so on and on. Has your baby ever had a fall? How did you deal with the guilt? I’m finding it so hard to move on although my baby is unhurt. The image of his scared crying face makes it excruciatingly hard :(

When my little boy fell off the bed I felt like this. But things happen, you can’t kick yourself for it. It happens to the best of us.
Your baby is not hurt and that the main thing.
My little boy also had a death wish now and try to drive head first off the sofa.

I was sat on the floor with my baby and had a lapse in concentration and she flung herself back and smacked her head off the hard floor. I felt so horrible! But she was absolutely fine. Accidents happen and babies are much more resilient than we think.

This happened when he was with my husband upstairs. He was trying to dress him he says and he was wriggling round on the bed and somehow ended up falling:( I was downstairs making dinner and when I heard a thud followed by crying I felt sick to my stomach and I ran upstairs to see what happened. Turned out he was fine but I was panicking and upset and wishing I never asked my husband to take him while I did dinner. I was mad at him for letting it happen but in the end I had to just accept that it was an accident and they happen, likely more will happen as he grows etc and thankfully he was ok is the main thing. I guess whether it's you or your partner etc you just end up having to forgive them/you and end up just taking extra care next time as crazy things happen. I'm always on at him to keep an eye on him etc I just want to hug him up and keep him safe 🥲

It’s better than babe falling from crib… crib is a way higher fall and it happens often. My son recently tried to get down from the bed and fell but thankfully he put his hands out for the fall. He is 1. He cried for 2 seconds and then unphased. It happens, don’t stress and thank god your baby is ok

As mums we're expected to somehow be on top of everything all the time but as they say, it takes a village to raise a child yet many of us are doing it in a much smaller family group than that. I'd be feeling the same but ultimately accidents happen (esp when we're sleep deprived and time pressured) and you clearly care a lot about your baby so he's in safe hands I'm sure 😃

Thank you ladies for the reassurance and support. I do feel better ❤️ New parenthood has been a whirlwind journey and I’m amazed how many lessons have already been learned. Every day will probably bring new challenges, and all we can do is put our best foot forward and keep showing up for our babies while also taking care of ourselves. This community has been wonderful for me. Thank you for taking the time to stop by this post and sharing your experiences🤗

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.
