First time travelling with bubs - what swim nappies would you recommend ? If you recommend happy nappy how would you clean them if you’re staying in a hotel?

I’ve always used Huggies disposable swim pants purchased in Asda.

I used Huggies and boots and I found boots ones to be just as good. And they’re cheaper x

I use Asda Little Angels ones, just as good as Huggies but cheaper

how many packs would you take on holiday with you? I’m going away for 11 days in a few weeks

I took one pack of the boots ones for our last holiday which was a week and I had lots leftover. If they don’t get poo on you can just wash and reuse fyi x

Bambino Mio fabric reusable ones! £10 in Tesco/asda etc.
They are such nice quality! I’ve always just washed them with hot water and baby soap in the bath on holiday and hung them out to dry outside! X

We use pampers swimming nappies. We also need to use a happy nappy on top at our swimming classes to avoid any potential leaks but on holiday we don’t bother with the happy nappy

so you just use disposable swim nappies?

thank you that’s great idea!! X

are the Huggies and boots reusable?

yes, as I don’t particularly like the idea of cleaning dirty nappies in the hotel on holiday and reusing them

supposedly not but they actually are. If baby hasn’t done a poo you can just rinse and reuse. They don’t hold wee anyways, so I threw away if there was a poo and kept if not. I dried them in the sun X

yes we did

We took splash about happy nappy (and their duo wrap) and also added a pack of disposable on our Boots order for the airport. We didn't use a single disposable one and left them for another family to use. I had them incase baby did a poop in her reusable and we still wanted to swim later that day, but she didn't poop in the pool at all. I rinsed them in the sink at the end of the day and hung them to dry on the balcony. If she pooped I was honestly just gonna scrape the worst of it off in the loo, hose it off in the shower, then give it a good rub in some body wash/shampoo 😂 they're technically not machine washable anyway (I do machine wash every other use at home though)

thank you good to hear your experience!! X

I use a disposable Huggies swim nappy under a happy nappy duo. That way if they poo you can throw away the disposable one and the reusable one is still clean. The disposable ones aren’t great at catching poo whereas the duo will prevent leakages

In terms of how many packs I take, I usually take enough for 1 swim nappy per day and maybe a little extra. Usually I wouldn’t use the pool more than once a day or go into the sea more than once or twice a day, but how many to take depends on how many times over 11 days you think you will be in and out of the water.

We've been doing swimming classes since my 2 year old was 12 weeks old and according to our instructor, the disposable swim nappies are actually reusable, as they don't hold the urine anyway. So as long as your baby hasn't soiled them, you can rinse them with fresh water, air dry them and reuse them.

I don’t know. This is my first time and will be baby first time being in the water. I don’t know if he would love it or hate it
