Thinking of going on a Caribbean cruise with my baby when he is around 18 months old and wanting some advise from people that have travelled with baby at this age. What sort of things do you need to take? Do you take plenty of nappies or would you be able to get some while away? Thanks in advance

We went a few months ago when my girl was 8 months so a bit of a difference. We took plenty of nappies but the baby club on our ship actually provided them so when we used that we used the nappies there so came home with loads! We just took everything we use day to day, a pram fan is an essential. Not sure if you’re aware but it’s maritime law any child that isn’t toilet trained can’t go in the pools which is a pain. Some ships do have splash pads for kids but obviously it depends on the company x

We travel with our girl a lot and have been to the Caribbean with her.
Take nappies with you. On cruises they charge a premium price for basics and there’s no guarantee on any given island you’ll get what you need. Takes up space but it’s light and you’ll have plenty of luggage space for the way back.

Yes, take nappies you'll need plus extra, take Tylenol or whatever medicine your baby may need if sick, travel crib, stroller, a handful of toys/books, sunscreen, sand toys (or purchase there), aloe vera, sun hat, water bottle. We used uppababy for travel but for our last trip got a used yoyo as we could take it in cabin as carry on which made things a bit easier for our connection flight. However, if you plan to go on the beach a more sturdy stroller would be much better even if you have to gate check it (I can wheel uppababy through sand but definitely wouldn't be able to with yoyo).

Muslins make great shade, light airy blankets and general messy cleaners even at 18 months.
Pack extra clothes for you too onboard the flight in case of a 💩🤮 explosion.
Take your own calpol. We fly with satchets which are easier and less messy.
