Has anyone had a fetal echo before?

Has anyone had a fetal echo before? I have an Underlying heart condition that I was born with (atrial septal defect (now closed) and current pulmonary stenosis) so knew they were referring me to a consultant. They’ve already told me I’m high risk risk due to this. Just wondering what to expect or if anyone has had the same? Thank you!

Yes, I have TOF and so they had to check my daughter for any heart conditions. For me, at least it was like a normal ultrasound, just close up of her heart. Idk if it will be the same or different for you. Also, they did a more official echo on her after delivery. Make sure they're thorough, as my mom was referred to a specialist, and they completely missed my TOF. Try to have the same pediatrician at the hospital and for newborn check up. 💕

I was born with a hole in my heart and had an operation at 3 years old, it has never affected me in day to day life until I got pregnant. I was sent for extra scans, and an echocardiogram for myself and for baby, the consultant was absolutely lovely, thankfully everything was absolutely fine with both of us and I was no longer high risk. I do however find I get a lot more palpitations than I ever used to but I have been reassured that it’s nothing.
I know our situations aren’t exactly the same but hopefully this puts your mind at ease slightly 😊xx

The scan itself really did not take long at all, I was in the waiting room longer than I was having the scan. It is done the same as a normal scan but more in detail so that they can clearly see baby’s heart x

thank you! Sound similar as mine was a whole in the heart but closed now and current murder. Never effected me but now seem to be getting referred (guess it is good they’re being cautious!)
Ah that’s good and pleased you were both okay!
Ah I have been getting palpitations as well, particularly after showering and long walks or randomly up the stairs. Thank you xx

Hey mama! Just joined the group so I know I’m a little late but I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with a little girl who has CPAM. We had a fetal echo last week and an amniocentesis. Hope your echo went well! Please reach out if you need someone to talk to 🩷

Reduced movements

Baby hadn’t moved for about 2 hours (that I can be sure of) but has now got hiccups and moving slightly again. Should I still go to triage or is that enough for things to be ok?

Growth scan

Just had a growth scan 35 + 2 and they said baby is weighing 3.5lbs, I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and he was 3lbs then. I’m back for a scan in 2 weeks but they said if he drops again they will look to induce me at 37-38 weeks now I’m scared!

Is anyone super sweaty down there?

I am around 21 weeks now, doing shopping today and was genuinely panicking my waters had leaked. Rang the local antenatal assessment and was suggested to change, pad up and monitor for an hour and go in to be checked if necessary. Been monitoring with toilet paper wads (as I didn't have maternity pads this early on!) and regular checking and luckily I think everything is okay... But seriously, was it just sweat??! Has anyone else experienced this?

Forgetting to eat and drink? Is it just me?

Is it just me that forgets to eat? It's 4.30pm UK time and I've completely forgot to eat breakfast or lunch. My son has eaten a shed load of food but I've drank a coffee this morning and nothing else since. I just remembered whilst my son was inhaling his afternoon snack.

I just don't feel hungry or thirsty. Someone tell me it's not just me?

Gestational diabetes

Please share your labor and delivery experience. I have it under control, have gained less weight compared to my others, don't need meds, and baby isnt showing any signs of being a big baby. I am hoping I can still go naturally, instead of being induce and definitely no c section
