My baby’s abdominal circumference was in the 98th percentile while her head was in the 29th at my 32 week scan 😅 I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and will get another growth ultrasound at 36 weeks to see where she’s at before they decide anything

It's ultimately you and your doctors choice but keep this in mind. Late pregnancy growth scans are not very accurate.
I was told my baby was measuring 94% circumference and around 8 lbs in my 36 week scan and the doctors were worried she may be to big full term. I told them I would wait it out, people have naturally birthed huge babies. I went into labor at 39w6d and the suspected 10+lb baby came out vaginally at 8lb 5oz.

I never got a “growth ultrasound” I only got 3 total with my 15mo old in the very beginning then it was only just dopplers until birth. I did go to an actual OB too

Yes, ours showed this at 38 weeks she had suddenly gone to 98th percentile in the abdominal area when she had been on track to be average the whole pregnancy. The consultant called me and did some scaremongering about shoulder displacement if I were to wait to go into labour naturally and she continued growing at that rate.
I got induced and she came out a completely average weight and abdominal size and I regret letting them talk me into being induced 🫠

I was tested for GD for this exact reason 3 times and each time it came back negative. My little girls belly was always measuring a few weeks ahead of her head.
I was warned about her getting stuck to and it resulted in me getting a c section. I do feel it was pushed on me quite a bit but I don’t regret the decision.
My little girl was born at 38w6 and weighed 9’2 (they predicted she would be over 10lb if I went full term).
I remember how scary being told all this by a doctor was, try not to worry! Do some research and make the decision which best suits you! You got this mama

I had an elective section due to this, babies head, and stomach were on 99th percentile. Came out on 98th 8 days early at 9lb 8oz.
Had to have forcepts in my section. Wouldn’t have got babies head and shoulders out I was told by 3 midwife’s that. (No GD)

My baby had 98% belly and 54% head

My sons was apparently larger and I had weekly growth scans. My GD tests came back negative. In the end I had preeclampsia so was induced and he came out at 6lb 11oz with a very very short and quick labour.
No pain relief and only 7 mins of pushing so absolutely didn’t get stuck. Sometimes their measurements can be totally out. Xx

I was tested for GD twice as they were convinced that was why baby’s stomach was measuring large and why she was bigger than she should be. Never had it. I was going to schedule a c section at 38 weeks due to this, however my waters went on their own at 37+6 and I ended up having an emergency c section as labour didn’t progress. She’s now 5 months old and still has a massive belly and small head 😂

did you have GD? How did the baby come out and when?

My son was off the charts for measurements for head and stomach. Was told he would be estimated 11-14lbs at birth. Was not told anything about the shoulders at all but was induced at 38 weeks (for GD and other reasons). My baby had normal head and stomach and was very long. Ultimately it's your decision to be induced or to have a c section x

how did your induction go? Was he heavy when he was delivered?

Both of mine had their abdominal circumference bigger than their heads, I think they just naturally have a smaller head 🤷🏻♀️
Both my were c section, one emergency and one planned, both high risk pregnancies

My first born was told she had a large stomach but was born naturally via vagina, now my son is told the same thing and they didn’t say anything about having a c-section.

not this time ( with those measurements - iv done the test three times )
Last pregnancy I had GD and baby was 98% head and 95% belly and I had GD and my water went 36+3 and had him 37 on the dot weighing 7lb 4
