Baby show Excel

Is it worth going? It would mean making a trip to London so not sure if it would be worth it.

We’re looking at the iCandy peach 7 pram & would love to get a good deal on it - is that likely?

2 years ago we went to the one in Birmingham as we missed the London one ! Highly recommend ! We actually got that very same buggy that day with a car seat as a bundle probably saved ourselves about £500/£600 in ordering it there. We ordered from Baby Planet. Would definitely recommend the buggy itself it has a 5 year warranty so we’re able to use it again for our little one who is due in 5 weeks

Thank you! I’m local to Birmingham but the Birmingham one isn’t until May & I’m due in May 😅

I was looking at doing the Birmingham one. It does say online you get better deals than anywhere else etc. I’ve had an icandy before. Loved it but I’m having babyno3 now and I want one that folds with the seat unit on as it took up a lot of boot space and time (school runs on the rain etc)

I went to the Excel one, albeit 5 years ago now, it’s not worth it. The “deals” actually aren’t that great and you can get much better offers online once you add in discount codes etc. There was so much stuff there that a quick search on Amazon and Google meant I just ordered it online after trying the item out there. I think we only purchased 1 item there as the pop-up stand didn’t have an online shop and it was a personalised piece.

Also what a pisstake you have to pay for tickets, it used to be free entry!!

If you want to try out buggies etc go for the free John Lewis baby appointment. You can try all sorts for free, no pressure or hard sell and their prices are usually quite good.

Even if you were looking for a deal on the iCandy, let’s say it was £100 cheaper than elsewhere, don’t forget to factor in how much your train tickets/petrol was, parking/hotel stay, cost of food:drink whilst in London, ticket price to the show and I guarantee that will all come to more than £100!

my husband was shocked at the pricing of tickets to be fair

yes it’s disgusting how companies these days just want to grab every last damn penny! Not even like they’re charging something small like £5 nominal fee, it’s damn near £40 for two people and they’re charging for an e-ticket too! Proper pisstake!! 🤣

OMG just seen they’re also charging £6 for the ‘goody bag’! That shit used to be given FREE as well when you went in 😩

Their target audience is first time parents as they know they’ll want to buy everything. If you are a first time mum Incog, or anyone else reading this, save yourself hundreds if not thousands, and go on FB Marketplace and Vinted and buy second hand. It’s practically new anyway. Don’t get sucked into the marketing hype!

Also my friend has the iCandy peach 7, it’s a beast! 🤣

Her son is 7m now and she said if she could have a do over she would get a smaller buggy. She has a Vauxhall Mocha and said it takes up almost all of her boot space too.

If you go to John Lewis, you are allowed to see how the buggy folds up in your boot space which is really handy.

Don’t forget mamas and papas also do the iCandy range and usually have good deals in the sales (Easter coming up).

There’s a shop that’s on Facebook, they have great discounted buggy deals. Let me see if I still have them added…..

agreed it does take up a lot of boots space if your car isn’t big! 😅 but it’s a good sturdy buggy! We did also get a Bugaboo dragonfly when he got a bit older he’s 2.5 now and loves it still. We’ll probably keep the icandy for another 2 years or so and then we’ll sell it on. My sister has a Bugaboo butterfly and it’s a great buggy folds to a decent size

I went to the Birmingham one last year as the London one was when I was only about 10 weeks but I’d definitely recommend it as you get an insight to what’s on the market even if you find it cheaper elsewhere but It’s very overwhelming in there so definitely go in with an idea of what you want to look at as there’s SO many stalls. I got my travel system from there for about £300 cheaper than retail price xx

Avatar

I went to the excel one last year… very overwhelming!! Lots of stalls that want to grab your attention. We went purely to try out some pushchairs which was helpful. We settled on an I candy however the ‘price deals’ they offer are the same as literally online so before you buy check the website! We found it cheaper on Mamas and Papas funnily enough x

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
