Need reassurance about leaving baby!
I’m going out of town for a friend’s bachelorette this weekend. It will be the first time I leave my baby, ever. I am also still nursing so plan to pump 3 times a day while I’m gone. I’m worried that my supply will dry up while I’m gone - like my body will know it’s a pump and not my baby. And that she will refuse the breast when I return, which would really hurt my mama heart. Any advice?

So I had 2 bachelorettes the 1st year my baby was born & I was breastfeeding. It’s hard & a bit of work but worth it! I would pump as close to as many times as you nurse now. (So if it’s 3 times then that’s perfect!). Your supply may dip slightly (especially if you’re stressed) but it should come back when you’re reunited with your baby! There’s no telling how your baby will react when you return. If she does breast & bottle switches now, more than likely she’ll be fine. My son did both & each time latched right back even though I swore he wouldn’t when I got back. Remember to also have fun on the trip, try to enjoy your time!!
