Floor bed! I'm 5'11 and my baby used to wake every time I attempted to put him in his crib so I dread to think how you feel🙈

@Katie exactly what I was going to suggest. I'm 5'10 and struggled on holiday in the travel cot. In baby's floor bed, I just lay down with her to nurse to sleep then roll out 😂

i’m 5’2 and i have a stool from IKEA, i had it anyway to get stuff out the top wardrobe/kitchen cupboards that are high and it’s a god send hahaha x

love this!! But I have a dog that will lick the baby at any opportunity so need her off the floor away from the dog😂

would you not have a baby gate/not allow the dog into the baby's room? We're looking at getting a dog and they wouldn't be able to get to baby to lick her with the gate and door to her room. A crib isn't necessarily the answer to separate dog from baby - recently a baby was killed by the family dog after it somehow jumped into the crib.

we have a miniature sausage dog who can’t even get on the sofa without assistance so this isn’t a concern for us thankfully!

Had this issue too, then I got pregnant again. Trying to put my 1 year old in the cot while being 8 months pregnant was impossible 😂

5ft here too! We had to change to a floor bed once the cot was on the lowest setting as it was just impossible.

@Tia I have a dog but she's kept out of the babies room at night??

so is our dog, she sleeps in a crate :) I’ll try with a foot stool first but a floor bed defo isn’t off the cards!

Floor bed mamas, what age did you do this from?

@Tia it was a sausage dog that was in the recent incident, how it got in the crib I have no idea when (as you say) most can't even jump on a sofa!

Baby has been in a floor bed since she moved out of the next-to-me crib in our room at 10mo. Would've been sooner but we hadn't got her room ready yet (we moved the week she was born) and then she got poorly with a fever so I wanted her close. It's done wonders for her/our sleep as she has so much space to wriggle and she keeps herself occupied for a bit on waking with the few toys in her room before calling out to be got.

oh really that’s crazy! Thankfully our dog is crate trained and sleeps downstairs at night so it would be more for my peace of mind during the day if I forgot to close the stair gate/door or something like that :) but when she’s a bit bigger I’m defo open to it! Baby girl is only 6mo at the moment, but she’s outgrowing her next to me fast so she’s got to go in her own room soon 🥹

I just tippy toe 💁🏻‍♀️ but my cot is quite low anyway. It’s just the modern one w fixed sides but I it’s got 3 levels I don’t lower it all the way I lower it on the next level down from the top and when I need to lower it again I will. First change of level was 5m

🙋🏽‍♀️ 5ft 1… I feel your pain. Was worse when I was pregnant with my second as I literally couldn’t put my first in his cot. Currently the cot for my second is on his highest, but soon going to the mid which will be a challenge.
I have to put him in standing so he can sit himself down 😂

Haha I’m 5ft 2 and I have always had the same problem 😂 I could just about manage for a while because I’d lob my boobs over the edge and they would give me a few inches extra wiggle room to practically throw myself in there to grab my kids but in the end as they got heavy I realised I had no chance 😂

@Tia my baby has been on a floor bed since 9m but I wish I did it sooner! After he grew out his next to me at 5 months (he's a really tall boy) I tried for weeks and weeks to get him in his crib and he jist never took to it so we bed shared for a few months so I could get some sleep! Transitioning to a floor bed has been amazing for re-settling- my boy still wakes every 1-3hrs.. how I'm still functioning I have no idea!
