Feeling bad

I'm still contacting napping all my daughters naps (2x a day) unless it's a nap in the car/pram/baby carrier. On a weekend she has her contact naps on my husband 😅 anyone still in the same boat?

Why do you feel bad? I still do contact naps, as well. I’m not in a rush to get him in his crib personally, I like the cuddles and it breaks my heart that one day, he won’t want them anymore. So I’m soaking them up while I still can 😅

Currently reading this while my little one contact naps on me 😅 all my friends with older children keep telling me to soak up all the contact naps as they don’t last forever! 🥹 little bit nervous how he’s going to do at nursery with napping but they don’t seem phased at all that he still contact naps! X

Currently sat here with my little one asleep on my arm too. Definitely not going to last forever so I'm making the most of every second too!

Also currently contact napping and no plans to stop here! I did it with my first baby and she grew out of it. Nothing to feel guilty about, enjoy the cuddles! 🥰

Thanks everyone! I do personally love them ❤️ I've just had a few surprised looks lately when meeting other mums when I say we're still contact napping! When my daughter was younger she would absolutely not go down for a nap in a bassinet or anything when we tried, and since then we've just got used to our routine 🤣 she'll be 14 months when she starts nursery so hoping by then she'll be ok, @Hannah nice to hear your nursery isn't worried!

@Lauren may be a silly question but how do you know when they grow out of it? Do they start to fight the sleep in your arms more? Or take shorter naps maybe?

Aww soak it up!! My little boy suddenly decided he preferred his cot and would refuse to contact nap or be cuddled since he was around 4 months old. Breaks my heart because he's only 9 months but the only time I get cuddles is when he's poorly or if he wakes up in the night for a feed. He's sooo Independent, he will physically push me away then roll straight onto his side and go to sleep in his cot🥹😂 I wish he'd contact nap still, even if it's just occasional. So definitely agree with the others enjoy it while you can🥰

I wish I could still get a decent contact nap out of my LO. She gets too warm and only stays asleep on me for max 20 mins. I would love to be able to have a proper contact nap again

@incog I think she would’ve happily continued contact napping the whole time, but I knew she could nap at nursery without it being a contact nap. The biggest issue we had was transferring to a cot so we actually switched to a floor bed for her. I used to feed her to sleep and roll away, my husband still lies with her now at bedtime and leaves when she’s asleep. I think some babies just won’t settle in your arms anymore or as they start to talk they can tell you what they want too!

It's so strange as at night she doesn't want contact at all 😅 she wrestles and wrestles until she's put down! I guess for now I'll wait to see if she starts to do that during the day! Today she managed 2hrs on me and I did enjoy the cuddle and a chance to read my book (+ avoid some chores) 🤣

We contact nap too! I love it. But sometimes I do wish I could just put him in his cot and he'll nap so I can get stuff done! But I guess that can all wait. If he needs a contract nap I'm here for it! Xx

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism
