My 2w almost 3w baby won’t sleep. He’s been fighting his sleep & crying all night since last night . He won’t stay asleep unless being held & even then he keeps moving & wont necessarily fall into a deep sleep . He refuses to eat sometimes because he’s to fussy then he’ll eventually eat but still won’t sleep & still be very fussy . Any advice ?

If he isn’t sleeping very well he could be too tired to eat. My baby never napped and woke 5-6 times a night when he was around that age. The only way I could get him to fall asleep is with the graco duo glider bassinet. Is he bottle or BF? Also wondering if you use a swaddle or sleep sack he could still be waking from the Moro reflex.

Has he pooped recently ? Also may be gassy, I’d try belly massages, bicycle kicks, etc there are videos on TikTok
Mylicon drops are also to help gas
To check if he’s gassy you can press on his belly with a finger if it’s soft as goes in then it’s not gas if it’s firm and tightens it’s a likely indicator he gassy
Also I did regular chiropractor appointments with my baby and that helped a lot with many issues I was having

Bottle , I give him Enfamil gentle ease

He’s popped yesterday . I just tried the finger thing , it’s soft .

have you tried any other formulas? When I stopped BF my baby took well to Kendamil infant formula. It’s a little bit more expensive but not too crazy ($33) and it comes in a bigger container. They use grass fed cows milk and they use European standards for all testing which is way better than US standards. They also have a goat milk formula which is gentler on the tummy but it is a bit more expensive.

I know how hard it is to be in the trenches with a newborn so if you need to chat please hmu. It’s tough when you have a baby who doesn’t sleep and cries a lot. I’ve been there.

not really . I’ve only tried the regular Enfamil which he didn’t take well then switched to the purple one . You think it could be the milk ?

I don’t think it could necessarily be a milk allergy because babies are born with the enzyme lactase to digest milk sugar (lactose). Some babies born premature can have lactose intolerance though. In that case I would try the goat milk formula. I just try to stay away from American formulas due to the heavy metal content and lawsuits against the companies. I found Kendamil infant formula was the most affordable and best option for me and baby and it comes with much more than the standard containers which is a plus. I’ve tried Bobbie, ByHeart, and Kendamil and Kendamil was the most affordable and what my baby preferred.

Thank You!

My son is 8 weeks and we have him on the Sam’s Club version of Similac. It’s the one for fussiness/gas.
If he’s super fussy and I’ve tried everything else (attempted to feed, checked diaper, etc) and he’s still inconsolable,I’ll try comforting him using white noise. I read it helps remind babies of the womb.
If you don’t have a sound machine you can try turning on the bathroom fan or YouTube also has white noise for babies videos. My son also likes the sound of water filling the tub.
Totally normal for baby to want to only contact nap and wake up every 2 hours for feeds though. My son has just started giving us 4 hour stretches at night now at 8 weeks. The longer stretches will come, I promise!

Put him in a swing
