Does anyone else feel like their MIL just wants your baby for themselves? She isnt my MIL as i am not with my babys dad anymore but he is still involved in babys life. *bit of background for youse* I was 16 when found out i was pregnant and 17 when i had her. I know its young but i chose to keep her and told her dad (who i was in a relationship with at the time) if he didnt want to be a father he could leave as he told me multiple times to get rid of it and he said he wanted to stay so i said ok and he was earning £500 a week and i asked him to put £50 a week away to save for the baby (bearing in mind i was 8 week pregnant when i asked him) and he didnt save no money or buy anything throughout the whole pregnancy and then at 29 weeks pregnant he lied to me 5 times about money, where he was, who he was with etc and i told him i just wanted the truth i wasnt bothered about what he does with his life and he failed to tell me the truth so i ended the relationship with him and told him to get his act together and he didnt, he went spending money on girls, talking to several girls and made it clear this baby wasnt a priority to him. And when we told his mother i was pregnant she told me up until i was 26 weeks pregnant to get rid of it. I get that its a shock that her 18 year old was having a baby and that it takes time to adjust but if she had just said give me time to get my head round it, i wouldnt have minded but there was no need for her to tell me to get rid of it. My parents bought my pram for me as they said they wanted to and when i told babys dads mum she had a paddy cause she didn’t know what to buy and i said theres lots of other stuff. But when i split up with babys dad i didnt hear of his mum or family and then when baby was born she announced the birth before me and i had an emergency c section so i asked that no one announced it on facebook because i wanted to recover abit and she ignored that which annoyed me and she is an alcoholic in denial. She wakes up and has a vodka coke at 8:30am and drinks until 7 at night, thats an alcoholic in my eyes and i exclusively breastfeed my daughter and i wont pump as i dont want to risk her not latching back to the boob after a bottle as thats what happened to me when i was a baby and she had the nerve to tell me to stop breastfeeding and give her formula as she wants the baby and i said im not stopping breastfeeding and your not having her yet as im not ready for anyone to have her. And she doesnt like that my parents see the baby everyday (im living at my parents still) but ive always told her shes welcome to come round to see her whenever just to give me a heads up but she insists i take the baby to hers and i currently have an infection and havent handled my c section well and im in pain and ive told her no and i will when im up to it as i dont want to over do it but she says im keeping the baby from her and depriving her of her granddaughter which she didnt even want me to have for one. But she keeps saying im selfish for not letting her have the baby for a night when her dad doesnt have her yet as she is exclusively breastfeeding so he cant really and he wont be able to handle her for a whole night, he cant change a nappy, change her clothes, or even deal with her for an hour so im not letting him yet. Shes a very judgmental woman and says things all the time that insult me and i dont know whether to say something or just keep it inside

She’s your baby daddy’s mother? Who you aren’t with anymore? If so, ABSOLUTELY say something!!! The woman is nuts. Tell her again that she is welcome to visit to see the baby once she checks in with you to make sure it’s a good time, otherwise, she will not be able to see her grandchild until you are fully recovered and comfortable traveling with her. Send it in a text preferably so you both have the receipts, ya know?
