How many feeds per day!?

For babies who are sleeping long stretches through the night now how are you fitting in all the feeds in the daytime!?

My LO rarely cries or shows any hunger signs anymore so I have been feeding every 3 hours, however today he slept in and we ended up a bottle short by the time bedtime came around.

Are you just feeding closer together now to fit them all in??

We probably feed 7oz every 2.5 hours. Sometimes she wants one a little bit sooner. Then she has her last bottle half an hour before bedtime and sleeps 7:30-roughly 8 x

Yeah I reckon I’ll have to start 2.5 hours, the day just disappeared today!

My girl only has around 24oz a day (roughly between 3-6oz a bottle) every 3 hours. She sleeps through from 10pm - 6am and has 6 bottles a day (24hours). I genuinely think it’s just baby dependant. She ‘should’ be drinking 30oz a day + but there’s no forcing it on her now she’s stronger and determined! She’s happy and healthy. I wouldn’t try forcing in another bottle unless they wanted it.

We usually do around every 3 hours. Yesterday we had exactly the same that he slept in so we were behind on the bottles. I was planning to give him his last one before bed as normal but he was too tired to stay up so went to sleep on one fewer bottle than normal - still slept fine 🤷🏼‍♀️
I've given him slightly more today to try and make up for it...not sure if that was necessary but he happily had it!

this is literally exactly what happened to us. His daytime naps have been pants the last week or so so he was shattered when bedtime rolled around so abandoned the idea of trying to give him the last one as he’d only had one about an hour before!

My boy has 7 ozs every 4/5 hours. Wakes once in the night. He goes to bed 5.30/6pm. Wakes at bout 2/3am and then sleeps till 5/6am

Avatar

I'm sure he would have let you know if he needed the last one! I think it's great to have a vague plan/routine but if they're telling us what they need at that time then we have to follow that 😊

She’s has about 5 feeds a day with about 6-6.5oz in depending on what she wants to drink and that working well for us. I try not to let her sleep past 6pm otherwise her night time sleep is disturbed but today we had too much going on and day time naps went out the window 🤣🙈

She has 5 feeds a day, every 3 hours. I wake her up at around the same time every day so we can stick to a routine and fit it all in x

My boy who’s just over 4 months drinks 8 bottles per day, anything from 120 to 150ml which I make every time but he might not finish it and I don’t force it. He is a hungry boy though. At night there are still a lot of feeds. So his bedtime is at about 6.pm/6.30pm with the bath, massage pjs and bottle but then he us up at around 10pm ish, 2am ish for feeds and up at 6am ish. Sometimes he needs three instead of two night feeds. I change him each time. I hope with time he won’t need as many night feeds as sleep deprivation is real 🫠

Avatar

sounds like the same as us. My little boy doesn’t like drinking more than 120-150ml at a time. We go to bed around 9/10 then have one or two wake ups. I’m sure they will start taking more during the day and sleeping longer soon

I’ve been told that once we can introduce foods and offer porridge they will feel fuller and could sleep longer stretches. It looks like our boys are almost the same age so we have two month left. I also had a c section but elected. How is your recovery? Mine was scabbing for months and only started healing well in the last couple of weeks with a help of this cream I use. It was so hard as all I wanted and needed us to lie down flat on my back resting the incision but obviously couldn’t as got a baby to look after 🫠 it’s so much better now though 🤗

My boy has 5 bottles of 210mls every 3 hours he’s such a hungry boy but sleeps 7pm-6am every night

Avatar

yes this is what we’ve been doing as we have quite a chunk but since he’s been sleeping longer I’m struggling to fit them all in, it’s like the time just flies over through the day now!

BF baby here. She sleeps from 9/10pm until 7am. Feeds roughly every 2hrs in the day. She has a 4oz bottle in the evening.

Avatar

My recovery has been really good I was up and about very quickly thankfully.
Ah sorry to hear you recovery hasn’t been as good but glad it’s getting better

I just tend to make up his last bottle at 6ish- head upstairs for a bath if he’s not too tired for one(I do baths 4 times a week) then go into the bedroom that will be dark with his white noise and tiny light in the corner- feed him on the rocking chair and the pop him down and his matress is warmed up before I put him down too xx

Avatar

Don’t get me wrong sometimes he’s up 3 times lol but atm he’s managing 7-6 most nights 🤩

Avatar

My little one sleeps 12 hours and this was my concern but he is on 9oz a bottle during the day. Feeding every 3 hours he has 4/5 bottles depending when he wakes up, he’s so lazy sometimes 🫠 x

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

No more naps! 10 month old

For a few days now my 10m old has fought her 2 daily naps. Normally her wake windows were 3-4 hours and she is now eventually napping after a 6 hour wake window. Today was only one nap, she skipped the second one. Used to nap like clockwork so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Also very unsettled most nights and doesn’t sleep well at all
