What do you call your kids father?

More so looking for the opinion of people who are with their child’s father but everyone can chime in.
My sons will be 2 in a couple of weeks, I call my husband by his name but recently the kids have started to repeat me, then call him by his name for a while. Do you call your partner by his name around the kids or by what they call him? (daddy, baba, papa, etc)

I usually call him his name when I’m talking to him but when the kids are around or near in conversation I’ll call him daddy as my daughter also started calling him his name 🤦🏽‍♀️

yea I call him by his name with no extra thought then they walk around chanting it 😭😭 the other day my son called him by his first name to ask for a banana and he looked so hurt

I call him dada around the kids but his name when theyre not around. I used to call him his name in front of the kids and my daughter started calling him by his name :/

Avatar

I call him by his name unless I'm talking to my kids. Then I would call him dad. I absolutely hate if my partner calls me mum when kids are not around.

Avatar

I call him babe but my daughter has now also started calling him that so I think dad or daddy is a safer bet

Avatar

Mine call him dad or daddy, they know both of our names but don’t call us by them

I call him daddy when the kids are around. But I sometimes find myself calling him that when they aren't around out of habit at this point

A nickname (although technically considered rude). Tata Adi (translates as daddy Adi, or I just call him Adi). Also his full name but only when I'm a bit frustrated :) Our first has always loved it when I frustratingly used his full name :)

I grew up calling family by their names. Still do. Very rude in my partner's culture, but that's just how I was raised.

We call each other by our first names and my son is being raised to do the same. The only people who call us mum/dad or mama/papa are the nursery/daycare workers and it throws me off every time 😅

Avatar

I do a mix of dad and his name. My toddler was calling him his name but it didn’t last long. Just a little phase

Avatar

Dada for kids and daddy for me 😏

Avatar

If our son is within earshot my partner will get called “daddy” as that’s what our son calls him, otherwise I use his name or like a little pet name

Avatar

His name or a nickname. My eldest is 4 now and went through a phase of calling his Dad by his first name but then went back to saying 'Dada'

Avatar

I call hubs baba/babi, which is how we say Dad in Mandarin. But we also decided to call all family members by their Mandarin counterpart.

Avatar

I call him daddy when talking to him with our daughter or to our daughter about it.

Then I call him by his name if speaking to him directly

Avatar

My son is nearly 4 and we say mummy/daddy. When he's with his cousins he gets confused because they call us auntie/uncle. We try to explain but he doesn't quite understand

Avatar

I never call my husband by his name nor probably ever will, it’s always babe or baby but when my sons involved I’ll say “ask dada” “bring it to dada” “go to dada” “wait for dada” than same goes for him besides obviously he says mommy

Avatar

His name when we’re on our own, what the kids call him around them. I wanted him today and shouted his name so my 2 year old thought it would be hilarious to also shout his name

Avatar

I guess it depends. If the kids are around it's daddy or dada. When it's just us it's babe

Avatar

I call him Honey when I’m talking directly to him but say Daddy when I’m referencing the kids or know my children are really listening to what I’m saying. He calls me Honey too. Our 2.5 year old daughter calls us both Honey sometimes which is so sweet because we call her Honey/ Honeypie too. We honestly don’t use our actual names unless my husband or I are talking seriously to our kids, then we’ll say their names. We’re all basically just Honey to each other lol

Avatar

In front of the kids it’s always daddy or “bawa” (his language for dad” but I’ll call him hun sarcastically or just by his name any other time.

Babe or Mr Handsome.

When I’m talking to my baby about my husband, I call him dada what I’m talking directly to my husband I call him by his name

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Reduced movements

26 weeks and haven’t really felt little baby all day, she’s usually super active & I have a posterior placenta so I feel her all the time usually. I did feel her ever so briefly earlier right down into my pelvis. I was at maternity triage the other night with tummy cramps but everything was fine and so was baby. What should I do? I don’t want to feel like a nuisance?
