Anyone else having to be induced or developed pre-eclampsia?

I have been fortunate to have had an uncomplicated pregnancy, especially at my age (43) I am terrified of giving birth but had made some peace with it over last few months. I developed pre-eclampsia 2 weeks ago at 34 1/2 weeks, still minimal enough to be managed at home with frequent appointments. But doctors have scheduled me for induction next Sunday at 37 weeks. I am nervous all over again. Anyone had any experience with induction or also having to be induced? I absolutely did not want this, heard bad things with longer/painful labors and now with a blood pressure complication, how in the world is the pain and stress of labor not going to increase my BP?! My doctor said the process could take DAYS which I had no idea..apparently they insert some sort of vaginal gel to soften the cervix and then later pitocin. My induction is scheduled at 5pm so I am guessing I am not going to be able to eat or sleep for potentially days, and then somehow need to have the energy to push a baby out?

I was going to be induced with my last son, however he decided to show up. For the most part it is like normal labor. Yes it can take days, it all depends on your body. Labor for me takes at least 9 hours. I have had the epidural with both of my labors, it is in my opinion the best way to keep from hurting too much.

I was induced with my first and it was not bad for me personally, I fasted by 9pm started the Pitocin at 3 am, doc broke my water at 9 am, got to 7 cm at 1:30 and asked for the epidural cuz contractions were frequent, not too painful I just was tired and needed some rest, napped til 2:30. Started pushing at 2:50 and had her at 3 pm. We started friday/Saturday overnight and I was released by dinner Sunday

I was induced at 37 + 4 with my first baby for gestational hypertension. The induction was long, yes, but it wasn't complicated. I didn't initially want an epidural, but because my body was being pushed into labor before it was entirely ready, my body pushed back, and I stalled at 5cm for 12 hours after they broke my water, and they convinced me that the epidural was my best shot at getting my body to relax enough to continue dilating. (It also helped lower my blood pressure.) After the epidural, I literally fell asleep, and I woke up 10cm dilated and feeling ready to push!

For food, I wasn't allowed to eat anything "real" either, but I was allowed clear fluids, which included jello and juice and Popsicles and even sprite. Take advantage of whatever calories you can get. Eat before you go in, something filling but not too greasy. And pack lots of snacks for the postpartum unit in case you give birth at 3am like I did and have to wait around for the cafeteria to open 🙃

Bring whatever comfy stuff from home that you need to help lower your stress. I brought an iPad and had gilmore girls and podcasts playing in the background at all times. I also brought my Nintendo switch. They supplied a birthing ball. They were also able to hook me up to a mobile monitor for a little bit so I could walk laps around the L&D unit.

Also, one of the first things they will do is place an IV, so if your BP does spike to an alarming level, they will be able to give IV meds to bring it down very quickly. They know why you are being induced, and they know how to handle it. I had full faith in my OB team.

I was just induced in March due to pre eclampsia it was a process started Thursday baby girl was born Sunday at 5am they took things slow they also did allow me to take a break and eat mid day Friday because they realized it wasn’t going tI happen that night which was nice. I did get the epidural after I reached 6cm after the balloon honestly it wasn’t a bad experience at all and I took comfort in knowing that me and baby were monitored through out the whole process and they were knowledgeable and explained the whole process to me each step of the way and I don’t think there is anyway around labor hurting

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
