Hi all,
I’m 18+4 first baby and have been taking Xonvea for 3 days, just 2 at bedtime.
Yesterday I woke up and.. well I couldn’t wake up. I felt like I had an iron anvil on my chest and I could literally feel my heart beat in my body. It was truly awful. I called the triage and midwife advised I stop taking the Xonvea and call my GP this morning (she advised I didn’t go into the unit as “there was no doctor there”….)
I got up and moved about the house slowly, had breakfast (almost cried with pure joy that I could eat 😂) and the awful feeling did go away after an hour or so.
Ironically last night, I fell asleep before I could even think about taking the next normal bed time dose. So I was wondering if I took just 1 tablet this morning, like a half bed time dose, would this be ok? Has anyone done this before with good results?
For context, cyclizine for 48hours and prochlorperazine for 1 week, both didn’t work, ondansetron 10 days, offered some relief but was far from perfect.
I managed on my own from about 7 to 15 weeks and just couldn’t cope anymore and had lost a few kilos. In hindsight there were days I should have gone into the EPU, but I just kept feeling like there will be women that need their help so much more than I do, which I now know is so silly.
TIA x

I was drowsy for the first few days of taking Xonvea but I persevered and now it has completely gone. I was also off on sick when I started taking the medication so I was able to trial it. I only persevered as it has been the only thing that I am able to function on, it is the sixth antiemetic that I’ve tried as all others haven’t made any difference. I would ring your chemist and ask your pharmacist regarding doses as they will have a better understanding in my opinion x

Hi Katie, thanks for your reply. I’m just waiting for them to call me back after morning surgery, I really don’t want to come off it because like you I’ve actually functioned the last 3 days too 🤞🏼
