Dummies

My Lg is still using the mam 0-2 month dummies. She is 5 months old and we've tried a few times to size up but she just won't take any others. Tried so many different brands and styles and she's adamant she'll not take them. It's got to the point where it's far too small for her mouth. She's ebf and won't take a bottle either.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Or do we just try and wean the dummy off her now? She's quite reliant on it.

Same here! He’s happy enough with the dummy do you know if it is ok for them? Or are there some negatives to using a smaller one?

Mine is also using a dummy for 'tiny mouth'. I didn't know we should size up to be honest. He's perfectly happy and just recently started accepting a pacifier. As long as he's happy for me it's ok

I dont have any answers re the small dummy but I started weaning my little guy off his dummy on Sunday. I started because I got so frustrated trying to put him down for a nap coz he would keep flicking the dummy out of his mouth and then cry for it back. It was taking a ridiculous amount of time for him to go to sleep so I decided to go cold Turkey. We have had a rough couple of nights but it is getting better every day and now he is going down for his naps within 10 minutes.

I found the below article informative

it can lead to dental issues, poor formation of the mouth, becomes a choking hazard, and they struggle a bit to keep it in their mouths. She is putting half the plastic bit in her mouth now and you can see maybe 1cm of her mouth either side of the dummy

I found out the only difference between the 0-2 month MAM dummies and the 2-6 month ones, is that the mouth shield is slightly larger. I tried the 6+ month one for my LG at 5 months (just incase) but she wasn’t liking it. I think maybe just keep trying & see what happens?? Could just be because it’s new & probably feels much larger in their mouth 😊

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
