I have an anterior placenta and am only just starting to feel movements at 30 weeks. Absolutely no idea about pattern! What do people mean by this? Do they mean at certain times of the day or a particular rhythm, or duration? If anyone has examples I'd be keen to know too :)

Hi, l am 32w 5d. I feel the same with you. l can't observe any pattern other than when l eat and in the night, l feel that l have some guaranteed movements. But apart from that , it feels that it is pretty random. @Jerry it is more certain times, like the one that l mentioned above 😊 l remembered when l started feeling the kicks earlier in the pregnancy, where the kicks were not so noticeable, l was feeling kicks around 10pm almost every night!

I can’t observe a patten other than first thing when I’m awake, just before bed and then after I eat / drink sometimes. Sometimes when I lay down in bed too she starts moving but it’s not at set times of the day ❤️

Sounds similar to me. When I'm actively doing something I don't think I notice. When I lay down or after food maybe I can :)

I had a very obvious pattern 10 mins of activity at 9am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm then 20 mins at 7pm and 10 mins at 9pm from 25 weeks which then stopped and now on the reduced movements pathway and will need to have him early

I obviously had movements in between the activity periods too but they were sporadic

This will be my third baby and I’ve never had a set pattern. I have a similar amount of movement each day, some days slightly less and some days slightly more, but it’s pretty much all over the place when that movement will be. I’m never particularly worried because even on quiet days I’ve been able to get them to move when I’ve tried x

No pattern can be your pattern! And remember they are tiny humans not robots who boot up the exact same time each day. A pattern will usually consist of movement in the morning, after eating and in the evening.

Love @Emily ‘s response. Exactly right. I tend to notice more when I’m sat quietly. If I’m busy moving around and doing jobs I notice nothing (anterior placenta) But yes normally mornings when I wake up but not got out of bed yet/ when I’m having my cuppa. After lunch and after tea sat on the sofa. Feel movements sporadically throughout the evening and usually always as I’m trying to get to sleep! But this can change daily, I may not feel anything first thing but will when I’m having breakfast and vice versa. Evenings I will always feel movements just not at the same time. X

I have no pattern whatsoever.. baby moves a lot but at very random times throughout the day and no two days are the same. As long as she’s moving around in there I’m not concerned

If I’m still in bed around 7:30-8:30 AM I tend to feel movement. Some days baby is more active than others. But no pattern. I also have an anterior placenta though so I’m not too hung up on trying to find a pattern.

Mine moves hourly I would say so I kinda feel them all the time. I think as long as your feel them fairly frequently you are good, even if you need to lie down and concentrate. Sometimes when you are running about daily life you don’t always notice what’s going on!

It’s my second. I never detected a pattern with my first and still can’t detect a pattern with my second. (Unless you count movement after eating an apple!)

Usually just times I expect movement really. So early morning, few digs throughout the day if I am sat still or concentrating at work. Then Welles I settle at night they go mad x
