At least $15 or minimum wage. Whichever is higher.
Also it depends on if it’s occasional babysitting or a nanny situation. If it’s a nanny. At least $45 an hour.
As a past nanny the bare minimum is $20 an hour these days, it’s sad how many women I see on FB groups seeking out high school girls to babysit so they can intentionally under pay them.
I initially paid a high schooler $15 an hour for one child, I bumped it to $20 for two children. For quality experienced adult babysitters, average has been about $22 for one child, $28 for two children in my experience (in San Antonio TX). I’ve seen lower advertised on social media, but not people that I’d feel comfortable using
It depends on what she’s doing. Just watching? $15. Implementing education/behavioral skills/etc, $25. This is for 1 child. Mind you, only 1 child. If she had multiple children, I’d say not to expect that much per child/per hour. People will spend less sending their children to daycares with the same environment so they probably wouldn’t choose her.
I think it depends on experience personally. However it is hard to find a sitter for less than 20 an hour so that’s why we never go on dates or we just trade off who has the night off on weekends or have my boyfriends parents watch overnight (but that’s like once a month)
You can also comment your own experience so I have an idea. Like what do you pay your babysitter how old are your kids and also how much more if over night?
